I've seen too many dumb comments tonight. So I want to set some things straight 1.) This is not a luxury car. It's a proformance car built for the track. So stop complaining about the interior. 2) this is the exact design (chassis, body, and engine except the mammoth spoiler ) used in the Le mans race machines. It is a race car homologated for the streets. 3.) Its not as v8 for a reason. The v8 wouldve made less power and ford wouldnt have been able to do adaquit forced induction to a v8. It wouldve been heavier, down on power and made the car less aerodynamic. 4) there is no turbo lag where it counts in this car. Its ecu keeps the turbos spooled in race mode so you have instant power on the track
@exadeci5 жыл бұрын
1) There is quite a few performance track cars that have much better interior than this cheap looking plastics and for cheaper.

I see a lot of people hating about the interior and the v6 engine. Ford has built this car for the track and not for people to enjoy on a McDonalds Drive-thru. I also can't understand why people are refusing to accept that smaller engines with new technologies can produce more power than bigger ones, with less weight. If you want a noisy v8 then buy a muscle car, this isn't one. There is thousands of engineers building this masterpiece, testing it, pushing it to the limits and you come say your Honda sounds better, pathetic. Each brand and car has its forces and weaknesses but we've all got to admit that Ford has done an AMAZING job with the GT. The design only makes up for its flaws. Enjoy your day fellas
@billyboobbroccoli82437 жыл бұрын
you say they built it for the track, but still they're making sacrifices in order for it to be street legal... seems just a bit pointless, no? why not just go all out and make it a full-blooded racecar then. 500k is also a very bold price tag for this imo.

why are people so caught up at the v6 if it can go 0 to 60 in 3.2 sec its better than most v8 and v12 this car is a race car
@EliteNugz7 жыл бұрын
ImASavage because it's only fast because of the high boost pressure of the turbos. A twin turbo v6 isn't nearly as reliable as a v8 that's built but still naturally aspirated. Like the 5.2 in the Shelby gt 350. Its just as fast but will be fast for many years to come. This engine I'd have it blew up in less than six months.
@Cyramor117 жыл бұрын
sorry but no you wouldn't lol it's made to be run under intense conditions... racing. That's why they didn't boost the shit out of it. Ya, they could have made it make as much as a 5.2, but reliability, weight, and size all mean v6 is the way to go. The whole point of the car was to be light, quick, and aero dynamic. The bulk of the v8 would have been just harder to deal with and it wasn't necessary I've never driven a car that wasn't a v8, I drive a ls1 daily. I like my v8s. But you need to realize application. just because you can make up a v8s weight in power, you still added weight. and weight is the enemy in racing. This car is most likely going to be one of the best, if not the best production race car to date

Are there cars with a triple sequentional transmission
@TheRealCartman17 жыл бұрын
So very WRONG!!! The McLaren 720s has a V8 and weighs less so Ford did not come out with some super light car that required a V6, they just don't have the experience in building super cars to compete with the big boys. The car barely beat a McLaren 675LT on Ford's chosen track, we all know the 720s is alot faster then the 675LT so the Ford GT will get spanked and the 720s is a lot less money.

Except certain cars. The 2005 GT had an MSRP of around 140K and is currently selling for $250- 350K. It's rare, and obviously the manufacturer wants every penny of value it can get so it's just as indicative of supply-and-demand as well as not selling at the best price to begin with. I don't know if this particular GT will do the same, but it's really cool none-the-less.

Wow everybody seems to hate that this car exists. Seems like it all boils down to: 1) It's a Ford 2) It costs 500k 3) Everybody is talking about it Yes I get it, it's expensive but not for the market segment it's competing in. Seriously, Ferrari and Lamborghini make models that cost 6-8 times more than this and they get the pass? Even more ridiculous is the notion that a Tesla sedan or hopped up street car is a better track car. By the way the McLaren P1 has a similarly spartan interior and costs more than double..Judging by the previous generation, this car will only become more valuable in the future. Anyway I'm sure all 1000 owners will be extremely pleased with their purchase and won't be envying corvette owners or looking for approval in the KZbin comments section, so why make a big deal?
@jeancarlo19797 жыл бұрын
Ryan David finally someone with brain
@DanielD1657 жыл бұрын
Ryan David Because Ferraris have the performance to back up their prices, the P1 is a highly advanced 900 HP hypercar, and Lamborghini is Lamborghini. We haven't seen what the new GT can do yet, and with cars like the 720s coming out with performance figures that are apparently faster than a P1, gives you a ton of comfort, and costs considerably less than a GT? That's why a lot of people are questioning it. I get it, the GT is a completely raw supercar that is at home on the track, but I still don't know about that price.
@Huskie_BOSG7 жыл бұрын
Daniel D. But it yields 600+ horsepower and I forgot the torque but for the price and designing and all the wonderful quirks I say it's worth the price of 500k and the fact that it's made for equality for track and road, while as Lamborghini and McLaren and Ferrari are either a well thought out track car and shitty road car or a great road car and a shitty track car.

Gonna be AMAZING... I want to reiterate (just for the trolls who are itching to lite me up..) I get it. This is for the person who wants something that can.. with the push of a button... go from the curvy mountain roads of Colorado to the curves of Road America.. I get it.. just not what I would I want to spend my money on. Side note; if you apply for this car, and they accept you, (what I read, and heard) they won't sell it to you as a collector item. They want drivers, and pretentious collectors need not apply. SO.. unless you are ready to spend gratuitous amounts of money on fuel, tires, insurance, and body work..not to mention the car itself... this is not a car for you.. or me.

Yeah obviously ford wanted to make a track car but if you really want to explore I say just buy a shelby gt350r it MIGHT even spank the Ford gt off the line well then again the gt is super light but I can't lie this is a really good looking car and is very unique

But you do realize that the GT IS only a track car and always will be.....even the previous version....in fact, ALL versions.........

I'm dumbfounded to see this car fly over so many heads in the comments. The Ford GT was homologated for racing reasons! They just want to win. They could give two shits about the interior. This car reminds me of the 90s GT1 era super car craze where the cars would break your back on the street. This is much more refined and livable. Ford is brave to wander into strict racing development, that's why this car is so expensive, it needs to cover all the huge costs it comes with and to be slightly profitable. These things usually run a massive loss for the company. More manufactures should take Ford's role and create dedicated racing chassis. We would see some of the craziest cars ever built.

Cool info. I'm sure there are enough collectors out there that want it, and lord knows I think it's beautiful. I personally would never buy a 500K track day car, quite simply because there are many faster, more fun alternatives at a quarter of the price. But I'd never knock it, because it's an impressive machine, and think it'll bring a smile to the faces of any of the lucky people who will own one.

OGSiX33 I can agree with that, if you want a piece of automative history and a rare car that can truly perform it's worth it. Of course not as much value compared to a 488 in comfort features and such but I don't think the rich really care too much about a 200k premium with this car having investment potential as well.

Stirling Moss It's a shame that this isn't the top comment. So many uneducated, popular opinions running around on KZbin.

Stirling Moss yeah if you're gonna pay 500k for a car I would atleast want a better looking interior... I could buy a huracan for less and it looks and sounds nicer than this turd

13:53 I think you are on point (almost always) with your assessments; however I have to take issue with your view of the paddle shifter. Ford did it the right way. They *SHOULD* move with the steering wheel. This allows for better shifting in turns, *IF* your hand placement is correct.
