Today I finally make a video with my 2019 Honda Civic Type R! How is it possible that I've owned this FK8 Type R for almost a year and have yet to make a video with it? Probably too busy fixing all of my other terrible cars. But here it is-the most capable, best handling, quickest, nicest car I've ever owned. Today let's take a look at this incredible machine and find out what makes it so great. And maybe a few small things that suck too.
This formidable iteration of the iconic Type R quickly broke front wheel drive lap records, and was crowned as the most powerful production Honda ever sold in the United States. While it may just look like a heavily stylized compact car, the FK8 Type R is basically a race car wrapped in a Civic body. It's incredible, and I'm glad I got to own it! But...

If you love the car, why sell it? You should get in touch with Aging Wheels guy, and try to do something with that Nova... It's a match made in heaven. Wow... I was going to suggest about the 90s BMW 840i, but the prices are sky high in the US... Not long ago I was able to find those for about 10.000 $ or less in Europe...

Sad to see this car go! It was amazingly capable in the twisties. Just want to say that you KNOW that huge tire fad has reached its apex when swapping it out for wheels two inches smaller improves the looks, ride, and maybe even handling as much as you say! (I'm sure the taller sidewalls made the car a lot more forgiving as well).

IMO, the two relatively affordable cars that are guaranteed to make you smile every time you drive are the Type R and the Miata.

Nah, you're not an idiot for selling it. You had your fun and it didn't fit your life long term. Not every car is a forever car and it's best to move on. I hope your Nova is a forever car though.

Cool video and glad that you decided to get FK8 as enjoyable driving. FL5 is pretty nice but too expensive. Nice 18” Enkei rims looked awesome on your FK8. I can’t wait to see new 24’ Acura Integra Type S soon. 😁👍

I love the car, at least it's not a crossover. I totally get why you are selling it. I live in the Miami area, commute downtown Monday through Thursday in my 99 civic hatch. No worries of dings, driving here is not enjoyable either....I leave my vw hatch in the garage, rarely drive it

I had similar thoughts when I got rid of my Veloster-N after a year. It was fun to drive, for sure, but so much of my road trip adventures include going onto dirt roads and clearly that's a terrible idea with a car that low to the ground. My answer for that was a Juke Nismo RS, since it's just sporty enough to be fun but still can deal with gravel roads just fine.

@@jamesmedina2062 what I meant is that you have companies like Mitsubishi that turned Eclipse into a crossover, and now. Its the crossover trend in general...every company is focused way too much on them and their top seller is almost always a crossover made for Karens

I can attest that besides the look of this R, the engine and transmission are amazing! This K20 engine holds close to 600whp with a stock Trans and clutch. I also wish I’d drive my R out more often, 27k miles for a 2019.

My 2020 Kia Stinger GT2 was the nicest car I've ever owned. It is the nicest car I will ever own. I bought it new in June of 2020 when there was pandemic panic at some dealerships. I sold it two years later for the same amount I'd paid for it. I've never owned an object I love as much as that Stinger. Maybe in 5-8 years, I'll buy one that's a bit more beaten on. I totally get the feelings here. I was already working from home before the pandemic. I only put 9,000 miles on it in two years. About 5,000 of those were multi-state road trips. I had it ceramic coated right after I bought it. It was so perfect. And then I moved to New Orleans where the roads are terrible and people driving are constantly dodging those terrible roads. I got to where I was afraid to drive it because I didn't want to damage it. And that's when I decided to sell.

I only bought my type R for the looks. Now after i driven it for almost a year i realise that Honda is more than looks. Its the most reliable car on the market and can take a shitload of beating

Slow car fast… yeah, it’s the only way to have fun without going to jail. When I rode motorcycles, I stayed with a 250cc only because I couldn’t use the power of a sport bike, and I have no self control.

Don't get what people hate about it's styling, if you want boring or subdued styling, don't buy a Type R. Saves the rest of us having to get body kits

Fk8 is one of the best fwd cars I've driven. I'm planning on getting the new Integra Type S or maybe getting a BMW M340i as a daily. Thoughts?

I haven't driven either of those but I'd probably go for the Integra. Everyone I've talked to that has driven the new Civic Type R says it's incredible, I have to imagine the Acura will be fantastic

I found stock rims' data: 20x8,5, 5x120 and offset 60mm (ET 60) Could you pls give us further parametres of your wheels? I suppose there is some tolerance for ET. Not sure about the measure, though. :/

Just a buy a Supra gr. I have one and beat most civics around a track. Smash them from a dig or roll. Far better car than any front wheel drive. Even the Elantra N dct is quicker than a ctr.
