I whole heartedly admire Freddy's attitude; most of us will never be able to afford these cars- the only way we could get something is exactly how he is doing it. I love the fact that he and Jared show us not to be put off by fear- jump in & do it. Way to go, Freddy- and thanks to you Ed, for showing this. See you on the road.

There are many cars that can be resurrected for less than purchasing one in decent condition outright. This, however, is not one of them. Sponsorships and YT revenue will hit him a lot less than it would thr avg joe, but the sheer amount of labor and parts sourced from McLaren is still f'n YIKES.

I've been watching Tavaris rebuild this McLaren now for the last several months now. I'm very impressed how much he's done. I keep shaking my head at all the problems he's encountered. I hope he's nearing completion with all that he's done so far. This is a car he's never going to be able to sell. honchoryanc I do live in Boston. What kind of car did you dad have? The car in my photo is a 1991 318is that I purchased from North Chelmsford MA about 10 years back. I’ve got a few other bmws too. 325e, 635csi, and some Bavaria’s. All local cars that lived in MA for the majority of their lives.

@@juandominguez8536 Yeah, the fire lambo turned out to be a major challenge. This McClaren is just nuts. Tavarish doubtless spent some time calculating his purchase price and the value of the car parted out if things went south. He probably should have walked away from this one, but he didn't. Amazing. For that matter, no one but Tavarish would even try to fix this car .... that is why it ended up in his garage.

He's also owned a broken McLaren 12C and other questionable beaten up cars. but kinda not because he buys cars with mechanical problems that the car wizard can fix and not half destroyed car like this one so ye only the uh genius Tarvarish can take on this car and go in on it hard with a bit of lube on the exhaust.. seems like he'll enjoy it.

This is SO ambitious! I hope Freddy will be open with the total cost of this build. As a much younger man, I once tried to buy a Porsche 930 Turbo that had been parked on its roof. The story was that everything it needed was cosmetic. The math looked good. Then just by chance, I spotted that the bell housing was cracked. I decided to run, not walk away. I still think I dodged a bullet on that one. But those pictures of Freddy's Mclaren, stripped to nothing.... Respect, brother!
