this was very helpful, my reel wasnt clicking when the line was dragged turned out i just need to poke the mechanism with a pair of sissors lol Clicked back info place and now makes the clicking noise again, thought i broke something but i didnt thanks for the video 👍

Thanks, Tony, my shimano sedona c3000 reel wasn't clicking and it turns out the spring was loose, it is now back to clicking.

Its called a Pawl. Or a clicker pawl.

Does removing washers make the sound dissapear? Do i have to adjust that metal thing on the spring somehow. I removed 3 washers to adjust the line gathering on the spool. I mean can the removing of the washers make the "claw" miss the "teeth" that make the sound? Got brand new reel and the sound dissapeared : /

Yes removing the washers will eliminate the sound of the drag

Its the same as before but its just harder to set the drag since u dont hear anything and u dont really know how hard or loose it is​@@moseskongi4746

What about when you are able to pull line easily with the drag tightened all the way? I bout a reel in November 2022, fished it 4 times in 2023 then all of a sudden, the drag stopped clicking/holding and I was able to easily pull line when tightened all the way. I then unscrewed the top and removed the lock and washers placing them back in order. When tightened appropriately I was able to hear clicking with the drag holding. Then all of a sudden, the reel went silent and I was able to easily pull line. Tightened all the way and no improvement. Any expert advice would be greatly appreciated.

The actual spring ones can be but the clip style ones are generally reel specific. If there's no screw also then it's harder to replace.

Try flipping the gear the clicker/pawl hits upside down. This has worked for me in the past. You'll notice the standard ones are angled and can wear down.
