Can’t believe I have say this, but for those ignorant. I’m well aware of YG’s influence and history…considering they got me into the genre. I’ve documented the XG/YG influence many, many times. I did not say BabyMonster was copying XG. Two girl groups (BM and XG) heavily influenced by the same company (YG) making music in the same genre (hip-hop/rap) and it giving a similar “vibe” is not controversial nor a diss. I also liked the song (and both groups lmao).

I've already said it, I understand you meant it well. It's not your fault if you don't know much about YG. But XG has a point of discomfort not only for BM's fandom and YG's fandom, but also for the entire K-pop fandom. This has to do with the rather weird marketing style of XG's Label(Avex). I just wanted to introduce K-pop and say that comparing it to XG is a bad word choice. I have no intention of inducing a war between fandom... Anyway, this is your KZbin channel. As a result, I apologize for breaking the peace with the channel and hope you can continue to enjoy music.

@Ocho815 yeah, it's been bothering me for a while that people feel the need to start their videos by trying to defend themselves or apologizing for not knowing something. Finding new music or listening to a new song by a group you like should be fun, you shouldn't need to feel put off from liking a group or genre just because someone else has decided to dedicate their entire life to it and is hating on others for not doing the same. Damn! These people commenting. This is exactly why people get turned off of K-Pop and the fandoms. They’re so toxic. XG legit has one of the strongest female rap lines in the world of K-Pop/K-Pop adjacent music. So the comparison is complimentary in this situation. He never once degraded one group to lift another up. He spoke on why both are strong and have similar qualities. No malice was at all spoken nor implied in this reaction.

@@KreangkaiR I get what you’re saying, but people seem to think having “a similar vibe” equals “their biting or stealing”. SKZ and Ateez are two of the top groups at making anthem like music. If I say a Ateez song is giving me a similar feeling as a SKZ song that doesn’t take away from the artists nor the song. YG are not the innovators of Hip-Hop nor do they own it (though they are the most closely associated in the K-Pop space due to their legacy of producing great rappers, which is as someone who grew up in the culture is why I gravitated to them in the first place many years ago). I’m struggling to see why me comparing two of my favorite groups in a positive light (for one singular aspect of the song) has become so controversial (though I’ve now been informed the fandoms are warring.)

Baby Monster mv are already averaging 100 million views without breaking a sweat. Currently Baby Monster hold all the debut records, most views in 24 hours, fastest 100 million, 200 million and also the fastest 300 million in kpop debut history ever with Sheesh. I’m assuming you’re new to the channel (welcome it’s fun here) because if you’ve been here you would know I’ve chronicled the XG YG connection many times. You would also know that the groups that got me into the genre all those years ago came from guess which company…YG. Just because they trained in yg facilities doesn't mean they are influenced by yg at all. Xg had their own team training the girls and simon went out to the us to produce beats for their music. They are heavily hip hop and rnb influenced not kpop influenced. For example in left right, they have an aaliyah/tlc style visuals and editing. If you actually listen to the group you can really hear a heavy western hip hop and rnb influence.
