Here We All Are - Ram Dass Full Lecture

I am 23. I had never searched for Ram Dass ever in my life, but suddenly he was there, like very instantly and indescribably there, and he guided me to his audio files on KZbin. He had answered all the questions I had growing up but I didn't have the communication skills to express as a kid. In my hardest moments, I take a moment of silence, and call out "Ram Dass?" And he reminds me that I am only calling out to myself. Ram Dass lives, he watches the "here and now" with our eyes, our bodies, our souls, our consciousness, our "I am". There is only One Entity in this Universe, and it's "I am" We've been doing this for all eternity. We are Eternity. It's only ever been just here and now.

I can't even explain how he entered my life. One day, for some indescribable reason, I just decided to open youtube, type in "Ram Dass" and click on his face, and bam. I saw my life flash before my eyes. I even remembered things from before. Far before? Really strange, queer memories of stuff I genuinely honestly don't remember this body or form ever personally experiencing, but they became remembered memories nonetheless. I've only ever been just right here, haven't I? Since forever.

In high school in Oakland I was in an alternative program in 10th grade.(1973) We met in the teachers lounge to meet with Ram Dass. We sat with eyes closed waiting for him. Then suddenly, there was that voice! What a blessing at 16! Thank you Baba 🕉

I first heard this when I was 18 years old, in a small town in California. I am now in my 50s and I have heard this presentation many many times. It is like an old dear friend to me. I'm so thankful that is finally on KZbin in its entirety. I absolutely cherish Ram Dass and this was my introduction to him all those years ago years ago, remember to be here now.

This talk, which I first heard on LPs in the mid 1970s, subtly and consistently changed my understanding of my life. In the years since then, whenever I felt lost, I found myself returning to it again and again, and to his other talks which he always so generously shared... It got to the point where just hearing his voice could calm my fears. I knew it was his combinations of psychology and spirituality (head and heart) that I could relate to. That seems to have been part of his great gift. It was only in 2019 that I met Ram Dass in person when I attended his last Retreat. I consider it one of the greatest blessings of my life that I got to touch his feet and thank him. Ram Dass didn't have to be "anybody special" to be a great Soul. Following his example has become my Sadhana. Deep thanks to all of you who keep his message circulating. Namaste 🙏💖

I read Be Here Now in the 70's, one of the books starting the spiritual journey. Then I hung out with him a few wonderful times. I never heard this talk, with him narrating his story which he wrote about in the book. Really great, hanging out with Ram Dass again, and all of us. 🕉 and the wisdom of India. gratitude 🙏

I truly wish I could speak in front of a living crowd like this.. web-based life has it’s pluses but the non-togetherness of people who are looking for answers and others who provide them is missing in the modern era because people rarely gather in person for spiritual reasons.. at least I can’t find any. Bless Ram Dass for doing his part while he was in the flesh.. I’m trying to do the same with what I have experienced but the internet is actually a hindrance to modern truth being spoken. Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content. Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves. Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content. Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago.
