Saw these guys last night. They played one hell of a show and sounded fantastic! Unfortunately they were overshadowed by Andrew Bird's brilliance afterwards, but I still loved it^^ Hope they continue getting more support.

I came here because I heard this song on a piece by NPR. Here We Go Magic picked up a guy who was hijacking across the country. The hijacker was a famous writer and he was telling the story on NPR and they played a clip of this song.

How do I know if I love you? When I sure like your bread The way that you tucker and straighten your bed But how do I know if I love you? How do I know if I know you? When you come out clean from the shower You squeak to the touch and you smell like a flower How do I know if I know you? Some men die in a fall Not trusting their nose to show them the way Some men die in a fall The sun ain't no keeper in the pit of that day How do I know if I love you? When all these things come and go? You can't stand them together in some neat little row So how do I know, how do I know, how do I know? How do I know if I know you? When the light in your house isn't on? I thought I heard movement but maybe I'm wrong So how do I know if I know you? How do I know if I love you? When you've drawn the imaginary line The way that you walk in two steps behind How do I know if I love you?

I think the video makes a good point: we sometimes need to be reminded what it is to be human. In this case, a robot serves as a reminder of what it means to be human through its dancing [philosophy]. But they can't see that humanity as anything beyond mere novelty, i.e., it's just something that came in a box. The man wants to keep the robot, but he doesn't understand why exactly. His desire to keep the robot is a subconscious recognition of what the dancing represents: which is, human agency.
