He didn't have an allergic reaction. he was using that as an excuse to dismiss the panic attack he was having. the weed probably took down his defenses enough to let the mental anguish crush him.

Or it could have been Paimon hurting him for damaging his body, they do specifically say they need a "healthy male body."

@@Whaylie meh tokin a joint once isn't gonna mess him up more than paimon making him smash his face into his desk

@@Diegesis Maybe both were punishment? The motivations of the demon are unclear beyond just wanting to possess a male

@@Whaylie yeah thats why i dont think it was paimon. i think he was having a panic attack for feeling like he killed his sister. it was a much needed human moment.

I thought he was so freaked and couldn't cope with the fact that it was "his fault" so with the weed taking a nasty turn in this headspace, he probably started imagining that he was suffering the same way she was.

I've loved horror movies to a point they don't scare me, and I HATED hereditary - hated all the characters and didn't care for them and wasn't scary/ terrified. It was slow and boring. What's more is this so-called analysis only points out all the boring obvious cliche scriptwriting 101 crap that anyone can just google now and try to talk pro. I was so hoping he wouldnt say that "show-don't-tell" bullshit that all wannabe-pros recite but no luck.

So you admit you’re not scared of horror movies and then criticize the movie because your not scared? Stupidity. Slow and boring? More like you can’t go thirty minutes of tense plot without someone having to spoon feed you gore and action. “Boring obvious scriptwriting” I disagree. This movie was unique and innovative in almost every aspect. Frankly, everyone but a small few like this movie and the critics give it favorable reviews. Almost every reviewer likes it. How come your opinion is correct and all these more qualified people aren’t? What are some better horror movies?

This movie is a work of art. Every frame in this film can be a picture. A peace of art you could hang up. I am a fan of horror. I am a fan of movies. After watching hereditary, I no longer view mainstream horror the same. This movie made me realize what I really fear. And It's not jump scares, that go boo.. your opinion is valid. You can feel how ever you want. I just couldn't disagree more, and I think your a dumba$$. Not all movies are like KZbin videos. KZbin videos are free, and are made to hold the viewer attention for watch time. A movie is a long thought out, story that you pay for, sit and watch. Saying a movie like this is "boring" when every word, scene, and even prop used, was solely there to add more to the final ending, just shows your very low attention span. I don't want you to ever watch a movie like this again. It's a waist of yours/others time. Instead, go watch "freaky" or "happy death day" that would much more suit a horror fan like you. 👍peace and love 💘❤💕

Bro, show-don't-tell may be one of the most recited advice, but it's for a reason. IT FUCKING WORKS. Show-don't-tell is used in many good movies. So trying to discredit it by saying only wannabe-pros recite it is pure bullshit on your half.

Sounds like you want a movie where the plot is being force-fed to you. Maybe try children's media?
