And I think they only put them with the herd certain times of the year. They had lots of “stimulation” depending on the time of year. You catch my drift?👉👌

My uncle raised cattle and he told me to respect the animals because they deserve our respect for having to take their life for food. He would treat them like they were royalty and feed them the best and groom them make sure none were a sick and if and when he was to slaughter one he would make it so they wpuldnt even know it was happening. He would brush them and feed them and brush them until it was time and do it from behind the animal so it wouldn't even see or know what was happening. Sounds kind of morbid but he told me a happy cow or bull is a better tasting one because the cows that are in those crappy government barns or stockyards are under massive amounts of stress and that makes the meat full of cortisol and other things that make it taste bad. He said there is no readon for the mistreatment to them they deserve the highest respect.
@twiceswords50145 жыл бұрын
not looking at them as food. Thats how you respect it, you leave them alone. Raise happy so your meat quality will be better is not respect, its bussines

fox on the run Oh no. I just see it as, if I'm not murdered today, there is a possibility. Animals kill each other all the time in the wild, with no consequence, yet we put a consequence and dont give animal rights, despite them not being able to comprehend rights anyways. Every day is another day closer to death. We are all animals. We all die at some point for a reason. We all live for a reason. It's the circle of life. Whether you are attached, or not, it will not go away. Death is always out there.

Perfect example of why animals deserve all the love, care and compassion. Gonna share this with everyone I know that's "questioning" the fact that animals indeed have emotions, they're not just fleshy shells of instincts! This bull is having FUN!

I’ve had to watch this again, my place of of work is based on a farm, and the cattle there are so chilled out its unbelievable, I didn’t know you I could hug a cow, not sure if I’d hug a bull? This one I would☺️.... (if he would let me haha) I found this video by mistake and watched it! Just love it so much😊... I don’t actually work on the farm itself, just drive a grain truck... but I love it when the cows come and say hello when I return on a Friday... there’re are such chilled and lovely creatures😊

I used to bed down my cattle in a big pole barn with small sqaures, i had a Case combine with a spike tooth cylinder, that made the best straw, easy to shake out. Makes a northern farmer feel good knowing that his stock has a good place to bed down on those cold nights.

We bale up weeds into big bales for our calves during the winter out in Utah - when the snow hits, we throw one on the feed truck and flake it off. The cows will tear it up picking out the grass and the calves hunker down in the dry matter left over. Nothing better than happy babies!
@missyb94385 жыл бұрын
Nox happy only if they’re not gonna end up being eaten!
@CheeseCakePhantom5 жыл бұрын
@@missyb9438 Before you get your panties in a twist, please remember that someone's lifestyle that works to support hundreds of others' lives does not make it wrong, simply because it doesn't support your way of thinking. Those cows are adored and taken care of, and we do send a lot of them on to feed lots to fulfill a different purpose when they're weaned. You may not like it, and that's okay. But I won't change your thinking and you won't change mine. Cattle are not items to us, and we have a lot of respect for them and we owe it to them to keep that respect all down the production line. Have a blessed holiday weekend ✌

To all the commenters, no, this bull likely isn't going to be slaughtered. It's a bull, which is an intact male, not a steer, which is castrated. You don't eat bulls because the testosterone from their testicles makes the meat stink, and because they're so valuable to turn them into a steak would be wasting literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars. The description says this is a yearling, and steers are typically castrated before then. So this bull will most likely live a long life breeding cows. I swear, people don't understand how livestock management works at all.

Samuel Bennett no need to be frustrated mate. Good explanation to those who don't know. Can't expect everyone to know everything about everything. Maybe if we teach enough people kindly, they make take up an interest in animal husbandry, farming, etc. 👍

We treat all of our animals with respect and provide them with what is needed to thrive. It is really the only way to operate a ranch. People that put animals through unnecessary stress and abuse should not be raising cattle as a profession. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I really wish that everyone that works with livestock had the same approach as you! So many animals end up suffering unnecessarily due to human greed for quick profit.
@youresoakinginit21135 жыл бұрын
JazzB, Yes, and I'd wager the stress-raised beef is much less healthy to consume, may even promote inflammation, which is the basis of most disease. With due diligence, and the understanding beforehand that it will cost more, we consumers could have an affect on all of that. Just don't purchase beef from stock that is under constant state of stress. (See, "due diligence", above) It takes tons of work but can be done.
