1:30:45 Beautiful. This goes in line with an important note by R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz about the symbolique: _"To read a symbol is to kill it."_ Meaning, if one tries to analyse a true symbol, one would destroy it, even though one would "translate" a cerebral sentence from it. Pretty much what was done with the Rosetta Stone, claiming to have "decyphered" Egyptian Hieroglyphs. But all that was achieved was to extract mundane sentences and destroying the "hiero" (divinity) of the glyphs in the process.

When Miles first goes whirlwind, in my mind I'm like "he's going ultra instinct". Then later he eats and eats and eats just so much food and I'm like "he's totally Goku". So now Miles has spiky hair in my mind. Also, them saying "wild Atredies traits" is weird. He's clearly a proto-Kwisatz Haderach, like Paul in the beginning. His presience isn't developed as much, but 'whirlwind' is a clear indication to me. I haven't read Chapterhouse or Brian Herbert's two novels, so I don't know if they address this or not.

1:11:00 really drives home the virtue of "sophisticated naivete" or "intellectual humility" Frank loved so much in Beverly. We're always being tricked: even, no, especially by those we trust. It's up for us to divvy out if the hoodwinking was necessary for our support (a goal we can agree upon even after our minds are less clouded by booze or their clout) or just to fool us like so many other tyrants have done in the past. If Teg would have it he wouldn't have sacrificed any of those men but knew it was necessary to stop the AM. We are always being hoodwinked, whether by an enemy or someone selling us their coolaid or solid advice.

About the women turn into tanks. Herbert expose what Engels summarize as the first social class in “class struggle”: women. Engels explain that as in ancient times male descendants was not a sure thing, but only woman motherhood was for sure, as men wanted to keep their accumulation of wealth and political power to pass on to their descendants, patriarchy was created to dominate the woman body: the womb. And in this Saga, they use women as tanks for wealth. The BG are the arc of society trying to control the struggle but as we see later, the HM are the revolt!!

To me, the sex scenes just get in the way of other parts of the story IMO, one of the few ways Herbert's writing gets clunky.
