25:10 Herbert adopted this straight from the age of gothic cathedrals. Remember when the roof of Notre Dame burnt down some years back? The roof framing of that cathedral was named "the oak forest" because it quite literally was made from an oak forest. Thing is: the church, way back when, planted a forest of oaks to be ready if and when the roof got destroyed. This is the reason why in Europe there was restricted forests, reserved for nobility and the clergy.

1:30:45 Beautiful. This goes in line with an important note by R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz about the symbolique: _"To read a symbol is to kill it."_ Meaning, if one tries to analyse a true symbol, one would destroy it, even though one would "translate" a cerebral sentence from it. Pretty much what was done with the Rosetta Stone, claiming to have "decyphered" Egyptian Hieroglyphs. But all that was achieved was to extract mundane sentences and destroying the "hiero" (divinity) of the glyphs in the process.

No, it's not a misspelling. "To invest something" means to lay siege in this context.

Every time I watch this movie I get more angry. Zendaya is horrible. The Guild knew that Paul was a danger. Yet they think he's bluffing at the end? How did the Freman even wage war without the Guild? Can worms fly. The Saudukar come off as chumps. Even Harkonnen soldiers seem tougher. It's super frustrating because it's a good movie. Just a horrible adaptation.

Pretty sure the "sook" here refers to water sellers from the first book.

3:45 funny you mention that, because in. the shining it feels like they imply that Jack torrence drank so much to escape or suppress his shining abilities, and steven kings has had drinking problems, just s aying

29:45 I remember you on FNT nailing it by stating to the effect of: "Ugh, get her waterfat face outta my Duuune!" XDD 30:45 If the film would've been made in 2005 or so, my #1 pick would've been Golshifteh Farahani.

3:30 Interesting because the Arabic term "suq" literally translates to marketplace. It's what we call a "Bazaar" in the western world. And yes, it's the exact place where you haggle prices and get fleeced like a sucker if you don't know the haggle-game.

16:47 "male perspective" Had complicated relationship with dad, he suffered, I suffered, I have ptsd myself. But when your seed needs you you pull fucking trough. My dad never let me go hungry no matter what was going in his life, raised me to think same, my great greeat father was the same. TLDR, actual 'male perspective" is 'put in your tampon logan, your kid needs you" sorry its cruel but thats how we operate, thats how we NEED to operate.

Act 1 of Logan ends with final action scene. Loved the movie but I just don't buy that Laura and Logan are daughter and daddy all of a sudden.

I think Hayt is supposed to be pronounced similar to Wyatt. The reason for this is because the word Hayat means life in Turkish from the Arabic Hayet (also meaning life). I know you call him Heyt becauase it sounds like hate. But life makes more sense since he's literally come back to life. P.s. I think it's kinda sweet how in detail you go into the Hayt and Alia flirtation scene. You always give us a lot of detail etc but it's clear you really enjoyed this scene. Man women really love themselves some romance hahah. Also, there are SOO many words from Arabic, Turkish and Persian in the books. I find it's most often Arabic origin words but the Turkish version.

Love your content, loved your dune videos. That said, that's not a hardcover. And Fedaykin is pronounced "Feh-die-keen" It's based on the word "Fedayin" (Feh-daa-yeen) or "Fedai"(Fedayi Feh-daay-ee) ) which is a real word meaning those who are ready to sacrifice themselves in Arabic. Used by the Shia Ismaili Order of Assassins (Hashashin, which is where the word Assassin comes from) and also by the Ottomans, where it had double meaning since Feda means to say goodby or give something up in Turkish. It was also used by many other Middle Eastern / Muslim people and even the Armenians.
