Grand Floridian Villas - NEW Refurbished 2 Bedroom Lockoff Villa Standard View - Room Tour

This is a full room tour of a newly refurbished two bedroom lockoff villa at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. These rooms were given a "soft goods" refurbishment, meaning a new coat of paint, a few new pieces to replace damaged furniture, and small changes, but no major changes like in a full remodel. The biggest change is the Murphy bed that has replaced the pullout couch. This makes it much more comfortable to sleep on, so we're very happy with this change.
This room sleeps up to 10 adults and has a good amount of space to spread out. We love the new details they've added in to these rooms. The room number is 1427.

Such a lovely room, and the refresh has maintained that "traditional" look with satisfactorily modern updates, such as the new murphy beds. I also love how they've worked Mary Poppins into these rooms in an evident, but subtle way. It's nothing like the distracting, decal-looking approach of the Incredibles at the Contemporary (thought I am among the few perhaps that don't totally dislike that update). A great review, thank you, and I eagerly await future reviews of the new rooms at Wilderness Lodge-Boulder Ridge and the full refurb at Boardwalk Inn 👏👏👏

Thanks so much for this. We just reserved a 2 bedroom lock out and wanted to make sure it would work for us. It's lovely. We have a lake view, but are these rooms in a different building than the standard rooms? Just wondering.

This room is absolutely gorgeous, but what is with only having one side table on the beds? That's so annoying. I stayed in one like that at AK and we just all need side tables and plugs on both sides. I always end up with the non-table side b/c hubby has a cpap, but what if we both had one?

Is a 2 bedroom villa the same as this room tour, or is it something different? The “lock off” is throwing me off. We just booked one for after the holidays and are curious exactly what we booked lol Thx!

The difference between a "dedicated" and "lock-off" is minimal at most resorts (including this one). A lock-off is a studio and 1 bedroom combined, and the 2nd bedroom (the studio part) is the main difference. In a dedicated 2 bedroom, the 2nd bedroom will only have 2 queen beds (no Murphy or small pull down bed), no kitchenette, and no door to the outside hallway.

We are staying in this room but preferred view - any requests we should make to get us the best view of fireworks? :)

I’d request a higher floor. It gives you a better chance of seeing the fireworks and not being blocked by trees.
