How do you argue with most non-vegans about the "farming kills rodents and insects" argument? i personally agree that killing and eating animals leads to more plant and animal/insect deathsl, but i feel there are more convincing arguments under our noses that we havent thought of yet

Not at all. “Converting” or persuading is not my goal in the conversation. It’s to explore their values and get them to see what follows. And I’m a debate minimalist. If it literally came out of her mouth that she’s “going vegan” now, then I’m just gonna take her word for it instead of assuming that she’s being dishonest, share some resources and move on to the next person.

I agree. The questions seemed more to get the right answers than to have her actually gain understanding and reflect on her actions. It seemed more like she was being talked at rather than talked with.
