I really like Herman Miller Mirra 2 more than Aeron, the lumbar support at least feels A LOT more supportive and adjustable, the wide back is perfect for tall and strong people. If anything, this video made me love Mirra 2 even more!
@OlivierGirard2 жыл бұрын
Pressure points are indeed my only problem. Less skinny people may very well feel much less discomfort, and therefore love the chair more. That's why the key is: try before you buy! And if you can, try for a week at least, not just 10 min...

Do you think the butterfly (fabric covered plastic back) solves these problems?
@nathanwoodsheartАй бұрын
I tried it with the butterfly fabric (padding version on Mirra 2), and it was still too rigid and my back stil hurt with pressure points along my spine. Some customers don't mind, but I think this is a major ergonomic design flaw, especially at such a high price point.

Just bought Mirra 2 without trying it beforehand and fortunately, I love it. Despite all the cons you just cannot go wrong with this chair IMO. The lumbar support it has is priceless. I should've bought it years ago...My old office chair from Ikea feels like a torture device when I sit on it now.

There’s nothing ergonomic on an Ikea chair indeed… fully agree!!

Thank you for the review. What do you think of saddle chairs
@OlivierGirard2 жыл бұрын
The good thing about saddle chairs is that you can sit higher than on normal chairs (i.e. knee angle above 90°). This is especially relevant for some professions (e.g., dentist, tattoo artist, etc.) because it allows you to come closer to your client / workspace. However, saddle chairs increase the pressure on the inner thighs and are therefore not recommended for more than 4hrs a day. Furthermore, they are individual chairs, not to be shared: some are shaped for male pelvis, some others for female pelvis. Hence I sometimes recommend them but only after a careful analysis of the use case. Does this make sense?

I’m 6’3 and this is the most comfortable chair I’ve sat in. Aeron was too small for me, and I rarely see anyone selling a size C.

Hey do you think the version with a fabric cover on the back is enough to overcome the uncomfortability of the back?

Hey! I doubt... maybe for some people, but for those like myself who are quite bony, I don't think so.

Great review as always!!! - I tried it with the butterfly fabric (padding version on Mirra 2), and it was still too rigid and my back stil hurt with pressure points along my spine. I'm fairly bony and skinny. Yes, some find it very comfortable, but it really dug in for me. Overall, I think this is a major ergonomic design flaw and a confusing choice that could have been easily made more accommodating with either mesh or more padding used instead.

Mirra 2 solves the one issue I have with my Mirra 1. The Mirra 2 design allows it to have a headrest option if you want just like the aereon. Otherwise, I love the Mirra 1 so much.

Olivier, are there any chairs that you would recommend for small people around 156cm? I have been struggling with upper back/shoulder pain for years and the only chair that worked (steelcase sensor) is discontinued.

perfect chair for me im 6 foot 8 and im decently sized, when i was testing it out the plastic was digging into my hamstring so will have to find a solution for that, perhaps some cushioning i can add to the side
@OlivierGirard2 жыл бұрын
yep, be careful with that: you don't want it to become a source of hamstrings pain. A few of my clients have this and it's really crap to get rid of...
@Tom_The_GCT2 жыл бұрын
@@OlivierGirard ye for for sure but this chair absolutely healed my back by the rest it had gotten. So thats why im willing to find other solutions for that hamstring pain, its not like pain pain but its noticable pressure if you know what i mean but i have tested many chairs and this the only one where my back finally finds good support without pain. so ye but i agree if its like pain i would not even touch it, but its more like pressure and if i sit less wider its pretty much gone

@@LostStylus I think this is about the 6'8" person's width. His thighs touch the sides of the seat, which, being the seat a mesh one, must be and are very stiff.

I'm 1.83 and went for an Embody for the mere reason of a better back -upper support. However the big reason I didn't choose Mirra 2 was the handrest. I felt they were a bit low.
