Would it be possible to have a video about quad muscles in terms of sitting, how sitting affects them and what are the tips to have them work the correct amount? This request comes from a place where quads are really overworked (tight, achy just from sitting) together with the tension in the hip flexors that is felt without doing anything specific, just being.

Consulting (40hrs) + gamer (too many hours) I'm going to comment as I owned both mices, one for a month and one for more then a year. I have forearm rsi developed probably from too much clicking (league of legends). Feedback for the companies and to the interested ones, the problems (for me) with these vertical mice: 1. Not perfectly ergonomic for me/everyone, Contour is in the right direction on this point but they need to make the mechanism more stable or allow for a lock once the perfect position is found. For example, when looking at my hands/wrist when standing up, they rest naturally semi pronated, I have found that i prefer something around the lowest position of Contour Unimouse to MX Vertical. Let alone Evoluent or Ragnok Mouse, those are too vertical and made me develop new kinds of pain. 2. The lack of precision/good sensors, once you defeat point 1. this is the worst issue with these mices, as an ex full time gamer I'm the most performant even at work when I use the mouse precisely, the lack of a good sensor forces me to grab the mouse very hard, let alone in gaming... maybe this is a problem for other users too. I would suggest companies to go for new, modern sensors, you do not need top of the line 3395 and 8k polling, for example an old 3366 and 500hz polling rate with granular DPI adjustment would suffice most hard core gamers and demanding users, while striking a good compromise for battery life compared to full 1k-2khz. (Unimouse is not too bad, they use pwm3330 but at 125hz polling rate which is just old tech today and there's something with the sensor implementation that doesn't convince me) 3. Weight distribution (must be perfectly centered) and weight (they need to be the least weight before there's an impact on precision, try work on larger bases like unimouse, for example). Good mouse skates like virgin PTFE used on gaming mice also help. 4. Comfort clicks, light and precise. This is mandatory for someone like me that had specific problems with clicking. MX Master 3s, Logi Lift and Logitech G903 SE (not hero which uses different switches wiht more force required) are good benchmarks for this. Specifically for Unimouse, they really need to implement onboard memory, seriously. Most IT departments don't allow software installation and most users would happily avoid the hassle of messing with the IT :)

How is normal movement that are body is supposed to do causing elbow pain… I feel like if anybody is feeling acute pain it’s probably due to soreness (inflammation )or maybe strain/sprain due to volume of work which over short time should improve thats being said as if you didn’t experience a severe/significant injury to cause a sprain/strain. But for someone to have chronic pain due to just using your arm in a normal function does not add up. God made us resilient not fragile. Are bodies adapt and love movements

Is it possible, that for SOME users, their forearm/arm rest naturally being semi pronated (not on horizontal neither on vertical plane), hence, something with a slight tilt like mx ergo (only the shape) or mx master 3s, is more ergonomic for them compared to mx vertical/lift?
@OlivierGirard5 күн бұрын
You know, I have seen so many different cases: due to XYZ birth disorder / surgery / accident and so on, everything can happen. I'm shooting videos for most people but special cases always exist
@synoxia46035 күн бұрын
@@OlivierGirard Idk, looking at me and my gf it seems like the hands/wrists rest naturally semi-pronated, which makes me think something in between the mx master 3s and a logi lift/mx vertical is actually what mantains the forearm in the correct position in our case, contour unimouse at its lowest position is the closest for me but I can't be precise at all which forces tight grab on the mouse which is not good... and this comes from a year of using MX Vertical after forearm RSI, the same happens with it and Logi Lift, developing new kinds of pain! I'm now reshaping all my ergonomics and posture and seems like I can even get back to use a standard mouse/gaming mouse such as g903 for a short period by maintaining relaxed forearm position! TLDR: posture first, then a TKL keyboard (for better posture) then the mouse! But maybe all vertical isn't correct for everyone and they need to develop more things like contour unimouse, I'm now testing mx master 3s which allows me to mantain a semi-pronated arm with the advantage of 20+ years of mousing muscle memory

Hi. In many of your videos you mention "pressure points" in relation to office chairs. When I adjust my lumbar support in certain ways, it presses a little hard against a particular spot on my lower back and causes pain at that spot. Is that what a "pressure point" means?
@OlivierGirard15 күн бұрын
Hey! Indeed, that's what I mean :)
@Dolfinator15 күн бұрын
@@OlivierGirard Thanks for the reply! I've managed to eliminate that pressure point by moving my lumbar support backwards (it can move forward/backward and up/down, the chair has a mesh back), but doing that results in poor posture (slouching I think) which leads to neck pain. Is there any advice you can give me?

Thank you for your video! @olivier, doesn't this chair go against your ergonomics principles? At some point in your videos you say that you should sit upright in your chair with a slight forward tilt and the chair should only touch your lumbar area. This is basically impossible in this chair. I own it and I feel like I am always in a slight recline position. I have also heard that quite some people develop pain in the tailbone area from this chair. I guess this is from the missing upright-sitting position of the Embody. What would be your take on this?
@OlivierGirard3 күн бұрын
Hey! I have a 2-fold answer... - it's been a while since I sat on this chair so my old brains will do their best ;) - this chair hasn't left me a great impression, to be honest, esp. in view of its price. I wasn't comfortable under the thigh area, and somehow the lumbar support was OK but no more. Now, this depends a lot on our morphology: basically, the chair should "fit your butt and hold your belt". If the geometry between the seat pan and the backrest doesn't match the geometry of your butt, not can it be adapted to it, you won't feel enough lumbar support. Hence, it can very well be that this chair is OK for some but not for you. Makes sense?
@chrisschuller70553 күн бұрын
@OlivierGirard Yes, makes sense! Thank you very much for replying :)

Using chair for a decade and never realised, I bad my chair has been giving me back and shoulder pain for years. Too wide and too deep causing me to slouch and extending my arms exactly as explained. Gonna throw it away and invest in a good quality adjustrable chair as this is the most used product to make a living working from home. Thanks a ton Olivier.
