You describe my life perfectly. I am a photographer who shoots 99% of my work in the Southwest... I am based out of Tempe. I spend a lot of time out on the highway, on trails, unpaved dirt roads, many primitive miles. The brother in the blue shirt is wearing some Zuni pieces. I pass through the Zuni Reservation heading toward El Morro probably 10 times a year. It's a favorite road trip route. They have those distinctive inlays in their silver. I'm half Navajo so I wear Navajo jewelry, but this is essentially my style. Those brothers encapsulate life out here. Wide open spaces to think, guitar plucking of strings, and miles to go before you sleep.

Imagine waking up on the beach somewhere in Baja California. It's dusk and your head is pounding from the drinks you had earlier. In the background you hear the faintest hum of electric guitars drawing you forward, one labored step after another, down a crescent shoreline. In the distance you spot a tiny cantina, Christmas lights strung up haphazardly. The music gets louder, beckoning you in. When you enter, you notice it's only you, the barkeep, and two brothers playing guitar. Those two brothers are Hermanos Gutiérrez. This is the vibe I'm getting from these jams, and I'm loving it.

This is sick, I’ve been rocking these guys the past few weeks since I discovered them and now there’s a tiny desk concert. Frig yea.

This really had the feel of the open plains, emptiness and contentment in one. Wonderful.

They seem really down-to-earth guys -- humble, and play amazing music.

Great vibe, as soon as I hear the lovely El bueno Y el malo” I suddenly want to see a good old Western movie somehow. And the way Estevan moving rhythmically with his guitar, makes me imagine a caballero on his horse :) much respect for you guys, and lots of love for Latin America, their richness in their history and culture!
