Function of a liquid ring vacuum pump

what if water gets into that liquid ring vacuum pump? does it cause breakdown?

Wouldn't the gravity make it run down the pipe? It could be that they compensate for that by installing a longer vertical pipe. Of course you shouldn't overfill the compressor chamber with said liquid. You can also add filters to the system to filter out the moisture in the air, depending on how clean your air needs to be. But I don't know about the cost efficiency between buying a membrane compressor (hospitals and drug labs use those, also if you're compressing aggressive gasses) or adding filters that you got to maintain regularly. I don't know the answer to your question, maybe somebody with more knowledge drops by or you go try ask about it on a engineering forum.
