It's how it was taught to me. Take the number, subtract 1 and that's the 10s digit, and then subtract that from 9 for the ones digit

I learned the times tables for nine with my fingers as a trick (as long as it went up to 10), but I did also learn the adding to nine for the numbers

They should allow to place the chorus fruit flower on any soil but it doesn't grow unless it's on endstone. So you can make weird alien trees with chorus flower hanging out in the leaves.

You should never worry about "weird" block combinations. Of all people, you know how to make things work. There is no real comfort zone when it comes to colors with Pearl, which makes everything you build so nicely varied!

It's related to the "devil's fingers" trick. Hold up both hands. To calculate 9xN, put down your Nth finger, then count the number of fingers on the left side of that finger-that's your 10s place-and the right side of that finger-that's your 1s place. So, for example, 9x4 = III,I IIIII = 36

Purpur is an amazing block everyone else is wrong!! Completely on brand for Joel to lose despite the superior mining method. Pearl’s gilrboss energy cannot be stopped. Really enjoyed the collab with Joel! I laughed at all the trash talk 😂

I get most of my building inspiration from Pearl and Bdubs. Their building styles are just so unique. I love the way Pearl uses colors in a way I wouldn't normally think of and I love how Bdubs paints with blocks. He uses blocks in ways you wouldn't think about using them.

Ancient debris actually doesn't generate more in the soul sand valley. It's not dependent on biome at all.

If anything it's less likely to generate in a soul sand valley. When ancient debris generates it can only replace netherrack, basalt, and blackstone. So the soul sand and soul soil actually block ancient debris generation.

Your base is just a masterclass on how to build realistically textured and weathered structures in MC, you should see Rendog and Xisuma jumping all over your base looking at all the details you have added, they couldn't believe the level of thoughtfulness put into every single individual block. For bright colour palettes, I recommend having a look at the street of houses that Iskall and Stress have built together for the murder mystery - there are lots of ideas there. I'm not certain, the having a look at the terracotta/granite/netherrack building for the purpur farm might be a good idea

Pearl! On that super smelter all you need is a single level, slap it on the face of the furnace and give it a flick... blam locked hopper below and you can grab that exp... much easier than breaking and replacing a hopper that could accidentally mess things up.

Cubfan did a lot of testing of the different Netherite mining methods in Season 7 (when he made an entire hall with walls of it, as well as the Cinnebun shop for them), and surprisingly enough his testing was consistent with your results, simply mining in a straight line of netherrack was the most efficient method, slightly ahead of beds. He made a video dedicated to finding this out if you want to leanr more!

around 12:45 the wind turbines look like white whales and I kinda like that. I know it's probably not intentional, but it kinda adds to the place. Especially since sometimes irl those types of turbines are painted to look like fish or something, so it's another layer of believability :)

I hope that one day when everything in MC is data driven, we are able to shear any plant to stop it growing, not just kelp and twisting vines. Sure you can put string on top of saplings but sometimes it can look real odd. It would be a great feature to just shear any plant to stop growth.
