26:19 that's a feature that was added a while back, presumably to allow speedrunners to verify runs better. Every loot table has its own separate seed based on the world seed, meaning everything from block drops to fishing to piglin trading and blaze rod drops are entirely predictable if you know the world seed. There's actually a couple seeds that people have found with interesting properties since this happened, like one where the first three gravel broken always drop flint, or the first three wither skeletons you kill will always drop their skulls

Just wanted to say it’s so refreshing to see a popular youtuber build the way I build. I don’t use Litematica, so my build always consists of copious amounts of inefficient scaffolding of random blocks, carving and shaping spaces of import before actually building, and then detailing them. I feel like for years I was just watching minecraft builders 3D print amazing builds, and it denied me as a viewer the opportunity to see the creative process, and learn from it. What makes the ending even more perfect is that it was Scar, who last episode refused to get mending from the villagers in solidarity with Grian. I get that a lot of this is scripted, but what makes Hermitcraft so great are the little bits that there is no humanly way to plan. Like this. Also, because it's "secret" no one at the time knew he had just spent 15 hours building a temple of manifestation for that book. So they don't understand just how deep the emotions were that went into that Scar gank.

I'm think the reason the hook landed like it did is because the painting is an entity, so the fishing rod will always hook the painting (immediately snapping to its center) and therefore can't go behind it to touch pressure plates. Not 100% sure though.
