Iskall has no fear of being judged. He has been trying to teach the Hermits this. The Joel Love thing is one example. Mission Impossible is another. Statements like these are dangerous as it influences impressionable young people who aren't developmentally mature enough to have sound judgment or think of long-term consequences. Iskall does NOT have a better life because of this and other personality traits. His world IS collapsing around him: he isn't trusted, can't compromise or collaborate, doesn't respect what other people want, degrades morale in the workplace. People avoid him. Iskall lives in a world of make-believe. In the real world, people like this end up in prison. He has a lot of adjusting to do with his "personality traits" as he's only found out what he is, and is rationalizing why he does what he does to his viewers. As this is a complex topic inappropriate for children, I would hope that policies have been put in place to prevent any online harm that may occur from this "point of view". I'm correcting this misconception, and time permitting, any others that may pop up as Iskall tries to change and manipulate the narrative.

For the mouth of the kraken, you know what would be cool? A hole to the void, as if the creature itself has a bottomless stomach. Edit: Also since you aren’t at deepslate level with the mouth, maybe you could make a long sinuous tunnel with rows upon rows of teeth that literally leads into the creature and then the void. I also feel the mouth is too small for making teeth, end rods would maybe fit the scale but they glow😅.
@gasly10184 ай бұрын

She's got kind of a lamprey mouth going right now--honestly far more horrifying than an octopus beak, but lampreys definitely lack in the appendages/tentacular department. On the subject of Awful Undersea Creature Mouths, Gem's Hole of Horrors could definitely benefit from a moray eel in one of those side caves (initial set of jaws and teeth for grabbing and holding prey, _second set of jaws in their throats that dart forward to bite off chunks out of the captive prey_ 😶 My favorite WTF Is That, Nature? sea animal also has an excellently horrific mouth but I don't think it would translate well into blocks...but perhaps Cleo could rise to the challenge of an armor standed umbrella-mouth gulper eel (just Google it) on the basis of "it's creepy and that makes it awesome". 😁

Some ideas for the kraken: I would reduce the number of teeth and make the existing teeth thicker, also maybe add some more depth to the mouth in height as well as in a colour gradient of red blocks so that the wool is not so pronounced. I would also decrease the number of tentacles at the bottom so that they are less cluttered. The gradient of dark blocks really helps for emphasis, and if the tentacles come out of the stone every once in a while on the way up, this would help it feel more ominous. Just some ideas!

In addition to the Warden, I think you should add an Elder Guardian to the Kraken's mouth as a nice jump scare (outside of range of the Warden's sonic boom of course). Also I think you should actually build out the Kraken's stomach and decorate it with lots of bones and mob heads for those brave enough to venture into the belly of the beast. You could also fill it with guardians and trident drowneds if you want to make it especially nightmarish in there.

So suggestion for more horror to be included in your base; Have an ominous eldritch eye in the hole which the mud paths of the streams leads into. After all, the game Dredge does have an Eldritch entity appear in it. Which makes it only natural for something similar would be at the bottom of the hole. Also, I think the eye should be a similar designed to what we see of Hermeaus Mora's eyes when he appears in Skyrim. Edit: Okay, the Kraken idea works well. Tho, it would be cool if its an Eldritch Kraken.

12:00 for the monster mouth, i think you could layer stained glass in it to make it have like a murky effect? the red wool can be the very bottom of the mouth, and then layering black/purple/red stained glass might make it work better, even if you have a conduit giving you night vision! (edit - i was absolutely thinking of grian’s starry night sky process when typing this hah) and thank you for the long episode!!

On the bright side, once the build is finished, the drowned might make it feel even spookier. Think of them like the spirits of all the sailors the monster has drowned/eaten, cursed to rise from the dead to drag more unfortunate souls down to the depths for the monster to feast on.

Yes Gem we(or at least I) very much enjoy seeing the process behind the build. It's just not something you see from a lot of creators.

It could be pretty cool to adjust your colours as you go deeper and deeper in the lake, as colours begin to look very different the deeper you get in the ocean. Idk how actually functional that would be, but it’s an interesting concept. Almost kind of a forced perspective thing that would, ideally, really sell that deep ocean horror vibe. Red is famously pretty much the first colour to disappear, so that may also be why you think your kraken mouth is looking a bit off

I LOVE seeing the “ugly” faces of the building project! It’s great for us who aren’t great at building freestyle, because we get to learn how the professionals do it😁 Plus it’s super fun as well

Seeing the building process of your builds, especially since you do it so well, actually really helps me get better at building and inspires me to build my own stuff more than timelapses do!

a fear of deep water is called thalassophobia! it’s actually relatively common, and i can really understand why with this kracken build lol. very scary, excellently done

I think it's pretty enjoyable to see the Process of adjusting the build live, tbh. It feels very natural to how things get made in general, and if you enjoy doing it, we'll enjoy seeing it.
