Yeah, it doesn't break, it just becomes about 40-45% the efficiency (Xisuma tested it, like Lonely Snowman said) The reason it still works is that there are alternating layers of soulsand and stone slabs, so the witches can still spawn on the 50% of the farm that's still slabs (The extra loss is to do with pack spawning)

Hermitcraft doesnt plan to update to 1.14 meaning they're waiting for a stable version, whether that be 1.14.1 or 1.14.10, meaning mumbo has time to make modifications to it to improve rates due to the lack of mobs spawning on soul sand. Just a random guy soul sand is not spawnable in 1.14 onward

For the order switch just permanently lock the hoppers under the chest and when the button is pressed the hoppers get unlocked and the items are sent to the warehouse this solves every problem and it's also very compact

Whenever you need a lot of something that is sold in the shopping district and produced by a farm, why not just buy them out and then go to the farm and get huge amounts of material for no cost and not stealing? That way you only need to take stuff from your storage not the shopping center stores Like plz so he will see.

You should make a reset button for the order, so that if you accidently make a mistake you can retry without having to order. There should also be a limited amount of time you can pay (say 30 seconds) through a redstone clock (perhaps indicated by lamps where each lamp represent 10 seconds). If you dont pay in time the order gets reset.
