Swapping a hermit out near death is technically a huge disadvantages, especially with the much more powerful decks loaded with bows, crossbows and rare Hypnos. If their near death anyway, it would be best to allow them their maxed out attack, then get KO'd, then bring in a fresh hermit that's ready to bring in the guns as back-up.

Has anyone noticed at 1:40:39 when xB passes the turn to Cleo, her lamp indicator doesn't turn on? I haven't looked into the redstone but could that possibly mean she decked out?

Unlikely since xB had only seen 30 cards (including Pricecards) of his deck so Cleo would had to have drawn 12 cards more than him. Even so she should only lose once she goes to draw the next card at the end of the turn (at least thats how it works for most other Tcg) and would therefore still know xB out before that happens. Most likely just a bug in the redstone tho.

So i was thinking there should be two type of decks(ways to win) 1. A deck where you do most damage with hermits abilities. In this type of deck u only need to worry about the type of opponent you face (type disadvantage) and hp. So you take hermits who are high dps and for effect only healing and Armor types (i say splash potions of healing and the best Armor u can get). In this way out of 42 you can take 8 (or more actually) hermits, 4 (i say...) Effects (2 heal 2 Armor, for health splash potion of healing and a golden Apple or corus fruit) and the rest 30 item cards. In this way u gaurantee to have hermits and all of there abilities (since u have more item cards🙂) 2.A deck that does most of its damage with effects. In this deck you take the tankiest hermits (300 health and self healers, like bdubs). Also most effects will be damage dealing. Out of 42 you take 8 hermits (only) arround 20 item cards and rest (14 ) effects. So you will have hermits, not items always but effects to do damage. I would say have as much Armor type and damage effect as possible. Like have 2-3 labs bucket(coz u can't have more than 3) 2-3 Armor type(again) than may be swords or tnt etc. Ofcourse all this works after you do a lot of clever training.🙃 Also having only 1or 2 types of hermits is best(1is.....) especially for second types of decks coz u have less item cards so having one type is better. If someone thinks i am right or want to edit something u r welcome ❣️ I am posting this on all hermits vids so I can know there and/or everyone's opinion 🙂

I dont know if you are taking advises or are still building the decks but, I have an idea for a deck that involves shenanigans. 3 Rare Cleos, 2 or 3 Rare Welsh and then you fill 2 to 4 hermit spots with either rares Keralis, IJevin, Bdubs, Beef or Cub )or if you are super lucky Ultra rare Etho) and only use PTP item cards. All of those rares you fill the extra spots with you pick based on what ultimate you like better, why? You can use the basic attack with any item card, and the Ultimate is for Cleo to use with her Puppetier attack. Items I would sugest healing and armors + Draw power and may extra turns.

About deckbuilding: With 7 Hermits at best (none in your price cards) you have a ~47% Chance of getting 2 or more Hermits in your starting hand. Furthermore if we expect a game of length {4/6/8/10/12} turns with 2 Hermits in your starting hand you are expected to draw {0,625/0,9375/1,25/1,5625/1,875}. This means that even in a long game with 12 draws (plus starting hand with 2 Hermits) you will probably have less that 4 Hermits in total. Increasing the total number of Hermits to 9 gives you a ~65% chance of starting with 2 or more Hermits and increases drawing to {1/1,5/2/2,5/3} respectively. Ignoring card draw, I would say that a basic deck should contain 9 or 10 Hermits to give it some consistency and make sure the game does not end because you are unable to replace a hermit that has been knocked out.

When you draw the 3 cards in the beginning and they go into the hopper the other player can play that card if they get it as a prize but they’re not for keeps unless you agree to it before hand. You give them back :) just in case someone doesn’t know this.

Awesome Games! Loved to see you play Cleo. You had some bad luck, but I think the deck is quite even, might I suggest you put more "draw new cards" in your deck, so that you can have more options, it seemed like a lot of the time, you were making moves out of necessity, cause it was the only thing you could do. Also I salute to your XB Card who did 50% of work in basically all your games :P So gg on that. Also that last game was super fun! You almost had her! I got a remark on Cleos Composter use, I think you have to discard 2 cards, in order to play it, but might have to ask Beef on that. And happy birthday I guess! :)

Card draw is the best in every game, should have 3 flint an steal, chest an fishing lure, just to get though the deck, but only 7 hermits an just enough item for the attacks, having more item only helps if you run alot of composter to cycle though them.

Is xB getting completely hosed by the deck? 7 hermits in 42 cards should average 1 hermit within every 6 pulls. However, with average damage on a given turn and typical hermit health, I don't think it takes 6 turns to K.O. a hermit. The most HP a hermit can have is 300 and lots of moves hit close to 100, some surpass 100 and there are many damage effects in the game. By the stats, I'd say xB is getting kind of unlucky, but not by much, the expected statistical outcome is that he'd lose on hermit draws, which is what keeps happening in just about all his games. TLDR: xb 7 isn't enough hermits.

I always hated playing for Ante when I first started playing Magic, it was one of my favorite things when they got rid of it due to it being a form of gambling when prices for individual cards started becoming a thing.

Yeah it's the only negative thing I have to say about Beefs TCG... the prize card is the good idea if they come from your own deck as they are useful for your deck... the only other way I can see ante being a valid thing is if the "prize" is 1) for the match win, winner takes their "prize" and the opponents "prize". 2) a single card of similar value for each player agreed upon before starting a match. 3) the "prize" cards are from outside the deck. So seen more as a buy-in which goes to the winner as opposed to an overall loss to one's deck even if the winner of the match. i.e. you win but lost 2 hermits thus lost 2 cards that are possibly crucial for your deck... If not for that one singular gripe the game, in my honest opinion, is absolutely perfect!

For any hermits building another arena, you could save a lot of time with some small QOL upgrades. For example: 1) a single column item sorter behind the damage number boxes. You would need to put filler items in the top 2 boxes, but that's not a big deal, it means every time you update damage, you can just grab the new value and q the old one I to a hopper, let the system do it for you. (Intentionally don't put filler items in the red box, so anything accidentally q'd in just ends up there) 2)hopper for discard, or even just moving the discard to where beef put it in citrus park. It may only be a few blocks away, but that's turning all the way around and walking those few blocks every time an effect is used or hermit faints. it's a bigger time save than you think. Player ergonomics. 3) lowering the bottom row by a half block, or putting slabs near the board, this will eliminate the need to jump and the player's height will keep the bottom row visible anyway, so again, Player ergonomics. (This may require a different turn indicator location) 4) xb said it in this episode, but ima put it here anyway, rly hope xb reads this lol. A roof. Simple I know, but it prevents Phantoms, AND anvils, which have become a common hazzard on this server (laughs in docm77) 5) This would be really big, like space wise, but IMO worth it. A deck count indicator. The compact shuffler (hopper carts) makes this a bit tricky, but what I would do is have a chain of hoppers that are always pulsed for 1 hopper time in sync. This means it needs to be primed with a few pulses right off the bat, but it would give you places for comparators that you could link to lamps as a "last 3 cards" indicator. That way losing to a failed card drawn is never a surprise. I suppose this could also be done with a separate 42 item counter... That may be easier, depends how exactly you set up the cart based shuffler. 6) maybe some non shulker boxes. Ok, this is just a personal preference and I get that they can be many colours, but fr, not everything needs to be a shulker lol. 7) match indicators. There are already point indicators, which is good, but many hermits are playing 3 game sets. So it would be nice to have match indicators for won games. (Also the point indicators should be in line with the board, most hermits don't look up much while playing, so he viewer rarely gets to see the current score) Ok, thanks for coming to my TED talk lol. But if xB replies I'll even make a video about all of these points and why they'd help so any hermits making more arenas would have no excuses for lacking optimal QOL lol

Looking over a slab that's higher than you would eclipse a good chunk of the bottom map and could look bad, but if you're also higher that won't be an issue. Also "player economics" it's better to miss a few pixels than to have to jump over and over

It's not that hard. Beyond the redstone skills of the builder type hermits, but anyone who has a redstone type in the game could definitely do it all

xB, please, please, please, add hermits to your deck. With 7 in the deck you have a 16.7% chance of drawing a hermit each time you draw a card, with 9 hermits, you have 21.4% chance

I am getting a feeling that the hopper minecarts which randomise the X's arena might be broken for that one side maybe, I mean instead of 42 there might have become less for some reason, so maybe the stackable card ie the item cards are appearing more on that side of the arena, you guys should have switched sides and checked once, it can all be a bad luck but doesn't hurt to check because it is such a good arena, it would be bad to see it fall down due to a small error on server maybe (you can check yourself or maybe ask Xisiuma please)
