Hermitcraft 9: The Museum! (Ep. 71)

Today we're playing Minecraft on the Hermitcraft Season 9 Server! Cub completes the Boulevard of Broken Bees connecting the museum area with the Hermitcraft shopping district. Then he designs a Minecraft Museum to house the many artifacts that have accumulated around the server throughout the season as well as rare Minecraft items. He also joins @xisumavoid, @EthosLab, and @TangoTekLP for some deepslate Wither mining and visits @GoodTimesWithScar and @JoeHillsTSD to collect items for the Museum.

Yo X! Before cub fills the museum with armor stands and item frames, y'all should use it as a PVP arena. It's legit perfect for it. Dude I have great suggestions regarding wither farming 1. Don’t spawn them at entrance 2. Made obsidian and water walls room with ender chests like safe house or checkpoint 3. Pre-fill the inventory slots with items in accordance to their abundance 4. Use lingering potions 5. Use Allays Army I am going to comment this off all four hermits let’s see who likes it first

Cool museum! If I may suggest an idea, maybe you could dedicate an area in the museum for just like, art, and invite any hermits who want to make art installations (whatever they personally feel like counts as an art installation) there? Maybe encourage them to try doing something with abstract art or whatever, like, just have fun with creating some art for the museum? I realize of course that it may be easier to have the museum be focused on different items from across the span of the season, but I think having art as well as historical artifacts could be fun too!

It would be so fun to use the loadstone flooring to create a scavenger hunt to encourage hermits to visit once opening day arrives! It would also create another activity like the parkour and jump tower. Maybe a dispenser near the information desk where hermits could get a random compass that directs them to an item or exhibit.

Honestly to avoid having things in your hand you should fill your inventory slots already with single blocks of deepslate. They'll fill before needing to pick up one in your hotbar and you'll know when it's time to deposit when your bar fills up. In that case you can chuck it and book it away to ender chest deposit. They'd avoid so much death.

Hey Cub, it would be cool for your museum if you displayed the things in it in chronological order, and as you walk from exhibit to exhibit and room to room you are almost walking through a timeline of the life of the server, from beginning to end. And just add more rooms as needed to the building for future events. The museum would actually be a cool base idea for season 10.

Don't forget the museum gift shop! 😂 not sure what to sell in it tho hehe. For displays within a theme/ event in the server, might be nice to have a section for each event. Stand-alone items could be in a maze-like room with the item in its own wall niche for extra interest in the design (or like blind arcades to keep within your main Greco-Roman idea) rather than a plain invisible item frame on a wall. Transitions between sections could have more parkour or other fun ways to access. 😊 but pretty sure whatever you come up with will be incredible. The build alone is already looking cool. Well done, good sir. :) Also, TCG trophy replicas on display maybe?

Some more artifact ideas! - a diorama if the tree of whimsy - something from Bdubs' great gate no one has yet found (maybe like some blurry map art picture of the gate since its a total mystery) - a skeleton horse with some horse armor for the horse race. - a little fish tank sponsored by XB's zoo. - some copies of tcg cards or later on decked out items. - a map of each hermits base? Or just a mega map room (if its not too laggy) - some dubloons and a cleo wanted poster could be funny thing to add. - you could ask doc for a little slice of the world eater. 😅 - the tcg pyramid trophy and any other trophies that come up. - a dangling mob to represent zedaphs mob moblie. - something to represent total chaos though im not sure what. Then some more less hermit focused things. - build a sniffer fossil - recreate other fossils you find - some pottery (when you guys get 1.20) - a wood collection. Display every wood/mushroom with its sapling. - a greenhouse wing. In the Smithsonian musem there is an area with a bunch of live plants if i rember correctly. You could grow all sorts of plants from every dimension in interesting ways to create a super ambient area to walk-through. - taxidermy. This a little over the top and I have no clue if this is even possible but perhaps using custom models like tango did with door of decked out you could use armor stands and have taxidermy of every mob or just a few mobs. Maybe the moor wild and unique species. Like mooshrooms, skeleton horses, guardians, squid, glowsquid, salmon/cod, dolphin, panda, polar bear, etc. Again with the Smithsonian as an example has this exhibit that consists of hundreds of taxidermy all stacked on these shelves in glass cases where you walk through row after row of animals. - maybe some custom builds to represent extinct mobs. - some archeology dig site strucures like arrowheads (flint), swords, bows and things on display. Love the museum Cub, as a long (LONG) time Hermitcraft fan, this really brings me back to Season 3 when Biffa was working on a massive museum project to exhibit everything in the game at the time 🤓 he might have bitten off more than he could chew, and was never able to complete it, but still his spirit for the game was a fine example of Hermit energy 👌 it's incredible how much has changed over all that time, for both game and server, yet neither has lost it's charm and appeal ❤ Thanks for being a part of keeping them both going, your work and dedication are always appreciated!

It would be really cool to organize the museum chronologically! People could walk through the major events of the server in the order they happened! One thing that would be cool for your displays would be to kinda build a mini scene of what that artifact was used for. Like for the Easter eggs, you could build a little house and “hide” the Easter eggs around the house. And for the Crossover compass you could build a mini rift. To kinda give some backstory or context on what the artifact was used for. 💛💛 I love the build of the museum!!! The contrasting colors of the stairs and the building is a combo I would’ve never thought to use.

honestly, if the full floor was all ancient debris, it would have been more expensive. you got a 1:8 ratio between loadestone and other blocks which would have been 4 ancient debris for every 8 places to build. it probably wouldn't have looked as good though. also, brown floor in a museum screams 80s, so better call on something grey/light grey

You should do a sign/plaque on the museum about how some of the deepslate was contributed from that historic event in Hermitcraft o: That would be pretty cool to add somewhere at the entrance or something along those lines And maybe display the books in lecterns so people can re-read them instead of popping them off and on with the invisible item frames - love how the museum looks!

for the empire section, put the compass on the entry, then after going bya wall at the door, you enter the secontion / dimension, with a mini replica of grumbot-3, sculk, steal the empire thingy, and when you exit the area, you have the christmas decoration

Some museums have a hidden object aspect to them. I know of one where there are 10 hidden medallions that visitors are tasked to find as they explore the museum.

Great job on the museum so far try to make it interactive like the adult kids enjoy playing with all the buttons push knobs levers you have on the server that will drive them crazy. (As Grian blows up everything by push button). You could add an audio tour for a Diamond and have custom music disks talking about the items and red stone lamps light up what they are currently talking about, with delays between the items so you can walk to the new items
