I don’t think it’s cheaty at all: It’s an incentive to keep people spending diamonds at shops, so that diamonds keep moving around the economy. Furthermore, half the battle of owning a shop is getting people in the door: the quest gives people an excuse to go buy something they generally wouldn’t under normal circumstances (say some quartz ore or something else that’s easy but kinda tedious to get), but since you’re being paid to shop anyway, ya might as well buy it. The player gets free diamonds and “free” stuff, the shop gets a new, potentially repeat customer… everybody wins.

As some people pointed out, honey blocks as floor for the farm prevent the frogs from jumping. Ilmango also tested this, actually making the farm less laggy, likely from the frogs not pathing for the jump. He also discovered separating the different colored frogs creates more consistency in the amount of lamps per color. It's quite interesting adapting the rail cart unloader to the Nether. Obviously you can do more carts in segregated lines and slower unloaders to ajust the output if needed.

nice simplification of the farm! one thing, you don't need the T-flip-flop complexity with the unloader. You could just use a mud block on top of a hopper, and the rail on top of that, no water, no piston... simple and quiet.
@1224chrisng2 жыл бұрын
not quite, it won't be fast enough, tho I think Embedded a Hopper Minecart into the mud block might make it just fast enough in this case, you can then replace the mud with a sand block, which makes it easier to build
@canadianavenger2 жыл бұрын
@@1224chrisng The item catcher does not need to be super fast, just fast enough to eat up anything grabbed with one pass of the minecart before the next minecart comes. It's also a pretty long cycle before the next drop, so plenty of time for the hopper to suck everything up, ad even clear itself out. (The mudblock/hopper is how Ilmango does it now) Then a dropper system could be used to control the item groupings to be sent down the ice to the sorter, meaning you should be able to get away with a single slice for each. Though if there was any part of the system that could use faster pickup, it is the sorter.

@NikolisKitchen2 жыл бұрын
Your frogs may just be finding a way to die somehow. I had already conquered a bastion before 1.19 with a magma cube spawner so I converted into a frog farm. I've filled it with frogs twice now, with a full layer of powdered snow over the top, and my frogs keep going missing. The farm is enclosed because of the spawner so there's nowhere for them to jump out but somehow they're still dying. The only thing I can think is that it's in a warped forest biome, and occassionally an Enderman will teleport inside the farm, but I've never seen one attack a frog and I don't know if they aggro with them?

Glass seems to be the issue with this farm, as the frogs can jump thru it... Raising my tadpoles growing into frogs they immediately jumped thru the glass. The next bug, only magma cream dropped when I fired up the farm. From "TreeBird" it seems that the More Mob Heads datapack from vanilla tweeks is to blame. It changes the loot table for magma slimes, preventing them from dropping froglights. Removing the datapack fixed the drops.

Hey X, I understand you are not burnt out this season but looking for something to change pace. So I have an idea for the Hermits next world or another One life, double Life type world to keep things ever changing and interesting. Water World with life leaching granted randomly to a few players. Please allow me to explain in more detail. The world has a starting island that is small and barren with little to no resources for the Hermits to make introductions and learn the rules and goals. Then everyone is given a boat(or not-you choose if they have to craft it) and scatter to the seven seas. When the timer counts down someone is granted life leach. The affected player has no control over their abilities and will slowly drain the life energy from other players. If they choose exile, then after some time with no sustenance(life force energy) they will get a hunger affect and soon drain their own life. Death is also not a cure for your curse, but you can pass it on to other Hermits. (Not sure how this would be done) I really hope you see this comment and perhaps enjoy the idea for a fun game variant. As always, you are a legend and thank you and all the Hermits for your continued efforts to entertain the world. Peace ✌️
