I believe an easy way to get the Bullseye advancement that many people do is to put a trapdoor on top of the target, shoot arrows onto the middle of it, then use a line of redstone (from over 30 blocks away) to open the trapdoor and drop the arrows onto the center. This should work

If you choose the tnt way, you should put mending on the flint and steel so that the lvl's from your own death fixes the flint and steel and no need for lots and lots och flint and steel!

That deppends on where the tool goes, since the xp just stays where you die and the tools goes flying. And as long as you get 1 xp the mending will fix it. And it looks like X gets more then one xp ball on his try (but more trsting is needed!) And why not even put unbreaking 3 on it and call it something like "Iskalls lost Dia burner" or somthing and you got some lore to it too :D So i think scar is the biggest problem!

Fall damage, piston pushing a solid block into your head (adjustable damage amount), a skeleton shooting you a bit first, fire (eg. netherrack), and a lot more... Then just finish with a rocket (can even use cheapest form of explosive rocket, IF the damage is fine tuned enough).

Idea for future shop/project: none of the hermits enjoy mining for ancient debris. There's tons of profit to be made selling netherite if you could build a giant tunnel bore in the nether. Consult your friendly neighborhood GOAT for engineering advice.

I made a Head delivery system on Impulses patron server many years ago which was an illager who was in a glass box. I called it the Kiss of Death kissing booth and you walked up to it, were killed instantly and your head/items fell into a hopper for retrieval. Something like that could be setup at the quest area.

Many cool and clever ways for a standard self-killing, but hear me out: a deluxe killing chamber where you throw a snowball through a portal to hit a target block that triggers an arrow cannon to fire back through the portal, killing you. Requires an advanced reservation so that the cannon can be loaded and charged. Talk it up as an amazing experience, and charge like 10x the price of the regular killing chamber.

for the bullseye advancement the target block has to output a signal strength of 15 when you've shot it, it's 100% worth hooking up a comparator and lamp so you can easily tell from a distance that you hit the dead centre

Your idea of a drop chute for the Player Head Kill Chamber could work really well if you just put a pressure plate at the bottom connected to a piston the pushes a block over the player's head and a dispenser to give them one rocket. So have a bed at the top next to a little redstone machine triggered by a pressure plate where a piston will push the player into a hole (will want a short delay so players can easily step off when they're done) where fall damage will take them down to one heart, they land on another pressure plate that immediately forces another piston to push a block over their head and dispenses a rocket. If the player is holding down right click, they should automatically fire it off when it enters their inventory and kill themselves. Once they're dead, the piston block will retract, and they will respawn on the pressure plate by the bed piston so they can easily death loop through the system just by holding right click. Collection system of a hopper minecart into a dispenser into a bubble-vator that shoots the player head quickly back to a chest at the surface. Seems like that might be the most efficient play.

For the head harvesting machine/area. It might be fun to have different contraptions for the hermits to pick from. I like the TNT, but maybe a dispenser with a splash potion of harming and a dropper that gives the player a rocket. A 20 block fall and then the player is given a potion of harming. A piston head that's extended, the player shoots arrows into it and then the piston retracts, dropping all the arrows (not sure if this one works). Maybe something with dripstone? Like the player is given a Trident to break the tip of the dripstone above then and it falls and kills them (not sure about this one either)

Probably the simplest head machine would be a bed with a pressure plate that dispenses a bow and arrow above a drop. The drop takes you down to half a heart, and then you shoot the bow with a half-shot straight up the shaft you fell down.

Give the people options for the shop! Die at your own preference but all with a bang! The poison method, the rose method, and for the fall damage, make a pit into a pressure plate that dispenses a rocket and moves a block above your head!

For the head collecting machine I was thinking of using an arrow canon to send your own arrow that you fire into a block or something at you at high speeds to oneshot you. If you use tnt dupers it only costs one arrow. And if they have infinity, it’s free and fits the “entirely free shop” quest.

You might be able to incorporate a blockstream to auto-supply the tnt blocks for the hermits. You could then stock it in a huge block storage once in a while and then they only have to light it up!

17:30 Make an L-shape, you start at the top of the L (without armor), set your spawn & get a rocket, Walk to the right (in this example), fall down the I-portion of the L, keep walking 1 block forward into the _-portion of the L, where you fire off the rocket & die, Then you respwan at the top of the L again & can repeat instantly. Then when done, you collect the heads. The heads can either be transported up to the respawn-bed, or you fall down into the L but DON'T blow up the rocket, & instead walk out a door or something down there, it just depends on how complex you want to make the build.

Bullseye only counts horizontal distance, not vertical distance, which is why dropping the arrows from above didn't work. But, as long as you're horizontally 30 blocks away when the bullseye is hit, it doesn't matter where the arrow was actually shot from, so just use a trapdoor right above the target, fill it with arrows, then run 30 blocks away and flip a lever to open the trapdoor.

For my frog farm what I did to prevent frogs from escaping was covering the whole thing in powdered snow rather than a spaced out pattern, I wasn't using a spawner though so I don't know if that interferes with spawns but it definitely reduces lag, you can also tie them to fence posts with a lead

In addition to a compact device for a quick kill, I’d love to see an alternate version of the Head Machine that’s less efficient and more entertaining as an option. A simple Rube Goldberg Machine for softening up and something manual at the end for the self-kill. Send the player through water streams, slime launchers and/or mine carts with bits of damage along the way. When the player gets to the end, they implement Bdub’s firework rocket idea. Good content for everyone! Maybe it could be a game where they have to earn the rocket while in the machine for the final blow.

Don't forget magma blocks and berry bushes deal small amounts of damage and with a magma block you can push a minecart inside it to collect the items. Both are way easier to get than wither roses.

An idea i had for the head collecting chamber is to have like a 7 block drop through a trap door, then landing on a pressure plate which closes the trap door and activates a dispenser to shoot the rocket, and under the dispenser is a hopper minecart to collect your head

If you’re going to use TNT to get the hermit heads, instead of using flint and steel, you could use fire charges. That way you wouldn’t need to collect the flint and steel so you could just use a dropper to give it to a hermit. However it would be a little more effort since you would either have to barter with piglins for them or crafting them which requires lots of coal.

Remember you can shoot an arrow with a flaming bow and use that arrow to ignite tnt automatically and it will count as the player ignited the TNT. With this you could maybe make an even faster player head farm.

The reason bullseye doesn't register is bc there are already arrows stuck in the target lock when the correct arrow Hits. The legitimate way to do it given the bug is to make a contraption that moves away the arrow from the target block with a piston (or te other way around) The slime block way doesnt count bc only hirizontal distance is counted but using a trapdoor and some redstone for remote activation you can cheat it like that. I encourage you to build the firs one though, its much more satisfying that way!

Most efficient system would be to use one of docs arrow stasis and single arrow dispensing systems. That way you could pre load a bunch of arrows, then accelerate them toward the player each time the player respawns.

I think a great way to get player heads would be by using charged creepers, maybe a creeper farm that puts a bunch of them into a chamber to which you can then use channeling to charge them, theyre an instant kill and i they give mob heads of the creatures the creeper kills, I'm not sure if it would work the same if it killed a player but if it does then you wouldn't need to craft anything or gather resources for rockets and such

Use an arrow alignment machine, its typically used in railguns but it should work here to guarantee a perfect center hit

A fletcher would give you Arrows that can harm and poison. A llama, that spits on you that causes you to land on a pressure plate that activate TNT. The llama would of gotten the kill. Being killed by a mob drops the head .
