Years and years ago Doc made a perimeter in old Minecraft: that meant clearing everything above a certain level by hand, and then lighting up everything beneath it. Notch himself got on to celebrate this immense achievement. ( And I think Dinnerbone? I know Dinnerbone did some other wild stuff with Doc but as for this moment my memory is a little fuzzy. ) Doc accidentally killed Notch, lol. Also, he tnt cannon launched an iron golem into a basketball hoop. Doc has been doing amazing things in mc for many years now, and he's still pushing his skills to new heights.

Dinnerbone was there too, yes. In the days before it was finished. There was an anniversary for minecraft where Mojang were doing a bunch of events and had mojang employees visit various popular SMP servers. Mindcrack was one of them and Doc happened to be close to finishing his perimeter at the same time.

Doc, I'd highly suggest you look into the Distant Horizons mod for Fabric. It allows for client side render distances up to 1024 chunks using an LOD renderer (I have an older PC and can get 60 FPS with a render distance of 256) and more importantly would allow you to see the entire perimeter at once. There is a much faster way to make a smooth floor without digging the remaining bits by yourself. You can make a machine that picks up the remaining bits by one block and then run the world eater manually once to get rid of it. It's kinda like the sweepers, but instead of normal pistons, it uses sticky pistons and are faced downwards. A suggestion to speed up the process :)

@AnonymousNoname I don’t agree. I play bedrock as a technical player and sure, it’s different to Java, and sure, there are many bugs (as there are in Java), but it’s still tonne of fun and I reject the premise you can only do 5% of what you can do on Java. I’m currently creating a 9x9 perimeter with a world eater down to bedrock and while it’s a lot of work because there’s no TNT duping, it’s still a lot of fun.
@jasonreed7522
@jasonreed7522 2 жыл бұрын
@AnonymousNoname bedrock may get neglected but the C group of languages are compatible wwith litterally every microprocessor on the planet, Java is not. (They are also much better as not every single function needs to be a full class to even run) The problem is that bedrock gets treated like a red headed stepchild, one of the bugs with ancient cities was they copy pasted java redstone and didn't update it for bedrock mechanics turning the door into a noise maker. I play bedrock because i always have been a console or phone gamer (ipod on the bus to school, or gameboys before that), besides the series consoles are basically the ultimate budget gaming pc in terms of power (not pc levels of flexibility). Also BUD power on java is silly (and probably a bug) and Bedrock has movable tile entities, i can literally make a piston tape supersmelter if i want. (Note sticky pistons spiting blocks on java is a bug, but it should have been a feature in bedrock)
@ttry1152
@ttry1152 2 жыл бұрын
@AnonymousNoname my take is that bedrock is neglected but has potential. Yes i agree i enjoy java redstone more because it ultimately consistent. But movable tile entities and some command structures

Hi Doc! Two suggestions: 1) Don't dismantle the world eater, it looks cool! 2) Ilmango made a frosted ice platform maker back in 2020, you could use that to fill in the bedrock holes, this also improves the efficiency of any mob farm inside the perimeter. (All un shulkers for him to keep) And if i heard correctly in a previous episode doc wants to make a fun shulker farm like Etho's LP one (presumably as an original design) and not just make the most efficient farm this season. I am definitely looking forward to what doc makes for "fun farms" since we know he can make ultra efficient ones.

The walls of the perimeter look so incredible. It's like if the grand canyon was in the shape of a big square. Removing the bedrock and seeing the void below would look super cool, but it also seems like an extreme amount of work, you can decide if it would be worth it or not. With bedrock would still be cool-looking. When I saw the world eater plans, I thought it would take much longer than this, like months and lots of the season. But it's done! Holy heck it's done. The world eater constructed and ran. Ate so much of the world. Doc is consistently mind-blowing.
