I have a question sir---If two Hermitian oparetors A &B commutes.. Then can I say that every eigen vector of A is necessary to be the eigen vectors of B??
@afiyashaikh1434
@afiyashaikh1434 6 жыл бұрын
MRINMOY MANDAL When two operators commutes let say momentum operator and KE operator then they have different eigen values. Momentum operator gives momentum whilst KE operator gives KE and commutes means whether they can be calculated with certainity or not as per heisenberg uncertainty principle. It has nothing to do with eigen values. Correct me if I am wrong.

Sir is this 7th lecture of quantum mechanics?
@afiyashaikh1434
@afiyashaikh1434 6 жыл бұрын
Sir, I have a doubt may be it sound illogical. We talk operators as real or imaginary and in mathematics every imaginary is term is associated with i and in hamiltonian operator we have i, how I should take that I.
@mrinmoymandal2695
@mrinmoymandal2695 6 жыл бұрын
afiya shaikh see,if u r interested about an oparetor (with imaginary term) opareting on wave fun(psi)..then u have no need to worry about that imaginary term bcz a wave fun always consist of an imaginary term also..for calculation if p-si is not given just do proper integration to check,, I think I cleared your doubts.. Thank you
@afiyashaikh1434
@afiyashaikh1434 6 жыл бұрын
MRINMOY MANDAL So, that imaginary term is due to wavefunction and not have any other physical significance?

One more question plzz eigen values of a non-hermitian oparetors are always imaginary??
@tarunyadav5938
@tarunyadav5938 6 жыл бұрын
Non hermitial oporetor may have no eigan value ...eigan value is a value its not be imaginary any way
@mrinmoymandal2695
@mrinmoymandal2695 6 жыл бұрын
When any oparetor oparates on a eigen fun then it gives a certain eigen value yes it may be 0 value....bcz we can rewrite every quantum oparetor in Matrix formation...then without making any sorts of calculation u can't say where it's limits....as an example e^(i d/DX)
@tarunyadav5938
@tarunyadav5938 6 жыл бұрын
If d/DX oporate in a oporator like x or x square then not get the eigen function back like A¥=a¥ so no eigen function no eigen value
@pragatiswain6914
@pragatiswain6914 6 жыл бұрын
No.. not at all. Here we talk only about Quantum mechanical operators which involve mind boggling functions of sin cos or exponential. Thats why chances of imaginary values or functions come. But for simple mathematical operations We regularly use operators of Multiplication × Division ÷ Addition + Substraction - And these operators when operated on real functions give real values And When operated on imaginary functions give imaginary values. Example If A^ = + F(x)= 4, G(x)=5 F(x) A^ G(x) = 4+5=9 (real) But if F(x) is 4i then, F(x) A^ G(x) = 4i+5 (imaginary) Am I right!

If I denote dagger(+) as (") (-d/dx+x)" = (-d/dx)" + x" = d/dx + x If (A-B)" = A+B Then (A-B) is neither Hermitian nor Anti-hermitian.
