After the murderous altercation, the three young men fled first to Chicago, then to Naples, Italy. The theft garnered only three hundred dollars in certificates of deposit, and when said certificates were used to purchase steamer tickets to Italy, the men were discovered. Cooperating with local police, Italian officials caught Borillo in September 1911 on a farm two hundred miles outside of Naples. Two local officers traveled to Rome to bring him back, but extradition was denied by the Italian government, so they came home empty-handed. Borillo was tried in Italy and sentenced to seventeen years in prison where he died while serving time for Sexton’s murder.

Ron, I worked at the National Archives in Washington D.C., for many years, before retirement. I can tell you nine times out of ten, the gravestone is wrong. If there is a question of age. The only way to find the truth is looking at the paperwork. My mother's own gravestone is one day off from the day she passed. Thank you for your stories and traveling to these different places. You do a great job!

Throughout my career I attended many a suicide where the person had attended events (weddings, birthdays, or simple gatherings with friends a few days and up to the event. It's them saying goodbye and leaving a pleasant memory behind instead of the last time they saw them. Some had left notes and others not.

Yes, some leave no sign that they are troubled enough to take their own life 😢 and it’s a shock to everyone. I guess they don’t want anyone to suspect beforehand 😢
@ShotgunNShacK
@ShotgunNShacK Жыл бұрын
@@naomisgram1they don't want anyone troubled by the thought nor do they want to try to be persuaded not to. Nor do they want to be forced into a hospital. They're already at peace with it and nothing is going to change the pain they feel inside. They can't turn it off living so they turn it off by dying. And it's so true. Suicidal people will never lead anyone on and may actually appear to have a sunny bright disposition before. The human brain is an enigma. It's not cowardly. It takes guts actually. It's just sad that they leave us with the pain and memories.

For me in Malaysia the oldest marked cemeteries would be from the colonial Portuguese era of the 1500s. You can see very weathered headstones in Malacca today but none are readable. There are headstones from the next era of Western colonisation - the Dutch. They placed them in the ruins of the chapel that are still preserved from the Portuguese era because St. Francis Xavier’s opened grave (caged in) is there. The bodies of the Dutch colonists are believed to have been removed and taken with them back to Holland, only the headstones are left. Dates inscribed are the 1600s

Hi Ron, I found out the following information whilst trying to find out about Anthony Borello. Borello fled to his native Italy after he murdered John L Sexton, where authorities refused to release him to Sheboygan County Officials. An Italian court later convicted Borello of John's murder and sentenced him to 17 years in prison in an Italian prison

Maybe if you need a quiet nap, but mark my words... I wont be hangin around a cemetery after Im gone. Heck no...
