Awesome guide. I've been dragging my feet on getting my set painted. These guys and the abominations have been bothering me a lot. Couldn't figure out what I wanted. You've given me inspiration for them now. Thanks!

Fantastic as all of your Painting Guides for HQ. For newbs like me it is fully understandable when you explain each step. Glad you always name the colour you are using.

Think my favourite was the red armour and green mace, but blue sword was good too.

your work is fantastic, i admire your talent. could you tell me what paint you used for the green effect on the weapon please?

New to painting and new to heroquest here. Love all your videos but I’ll play devil’s advocate on this one and say this one did not nearly express your talents compared to the others. “My interpretation” of the card artwork is that the main warrior is suppose to be drab and dead looking. The “life” of this creature is clearly in that shield if you look at his card. Eyes, teeth, covered in blood. This creature is clearly a shield with a body that holds its awesome cape. Lol. Spend 90% of your time on the shield and cape, rest on the body and you’ll be happy with your work. 😂👍

It was an alternate sculpt from the Pre-Order campaign in 2020. You can now get them in the expansions: Prophecy of Telor & Spirit Queen's Torment.

I think I would skip the zenithal in this case if I am just going to turn around and paint it black again.
@notyourmothershobbies Жыл бұрын
Fair enough :B A zenithal can help to identify details in the miniature, as well as shadows and highlights. Depending on the paints you're using or how thin they are, it can also add additional shadows and depth, even if it might seem like you're covering it all. That said, those things might not even be needed, and you can definitely get just as good as a look for these dread warriors by starting from black :) (and also save time! haha)

Where did you find the model with sword? Txh
@notyourmothershobbies2 ай бұрын
@@esaicometimuovi it was an alternate sculpt for the original Avalon launch pre-order. You can get it in the prophecy of Telor or spirit queens torment expansions now.
