Honda engines were the biggest factor in selling hero motorcycles in large numbers at that time and its still there. Also when my friend had purchased a cd 100 hero honda motorcycle he would travel to kolhapur from mumbai and back without any hiccups. His motorcycle was amongst the first one with lot of parts made in japan. 👌🏻

We've the hero honda super splendor 125 since 2011. We'd upgraded from Bajaj super which had served us for more than 20 years. Back in 2011 that was quite an upgrade from a family scooter to a family bike. The bike has endured 2 serious accidents, but every time it has come back to action at minimal cost. The chasis is very robust. Today I own a ktm adventure 390😀

TVS Suzuki started the new generation of 100cc bikes(AX 100?). The Honda CD 100(later evolving into the Splendour) gave an eye popping mileage in those days and led the Economy segment of these bikes. The Yamaha RX 100 led the performance segments and also in the looks department. The Bajaj KB 100 was the odd man out, being a late entrant. You revived old memories! The Splendor is a classic!

But please do a video on Yamaha fz16 which was your first bike because people still buy that bike even in used market after all these years. I was close to buying fz16 but it was a 2014 model so my father rejected it as it was a 10yrs old hence i ended up buying suzuki gixxer gixxer 155 2017 dual disc version but the fz16 has a soft spot in my heart even after getting a gixxer 😂 as it was the 1st 150cc bike to blow me away as a kid.

Splendor,Passion and HF deluxe..All powered by Honda Cub series engines..There was another step through called Street powered by the same engine but with a clutch less transmission..Truly all these products are reliable and affordable that made Hero honda a great success..hero is surviving still because of that legacy..

But point to be noted that till today honda didn't able to produce another splendor or another deluxe or another passion. Being No1 for more than 20 + years is amazing. Hero Honda bikes are immortals. They require minimal maintenance & run forever. Our cd deluxe 1st model is running just fine from 2008. However i can't say the same for Hero bikes. I rode a hero cd deluxe, but it didn't feel same to me, it was more buzzy & lacked a good suspension. The old model one feels more comfortable.

Splandor is such a fun little bike 😁😁😁 I usually ride ns160 but when I first riden this it felt like a toy , a super fun toy . If you maintain 80km/h in highway it will give 65km/lit , I personally tested it.

Wakai mein bahut shandaar bike hai splendour.... 1 tarah se poore India, be it urban or rural India, majority of people who wanted a practical and a long lasting, low maintenance bike..... Splendour has been and still is the very first and natural response of most of the people. One can easily say that this bike has been indeed made for Indian roads and the needs of almost every Indian. I often wonder this company must have made a very good research about the Indian market before launching this bike for the first time. I rode a splendour first generation bike back in 2004 and was in fact very much impressed by it's capability. It could easily reach the speed of 80 or above and in tough roads it rode exceptionally well. Heck, I have even seen splendour climbing hills with 3-4 people sitting on it...... Royal enfield wale bekar mein majak udate hai splendour ka.... May be because of jealousy! Who knows??..... 😂😂🤷🤷
