I am gonna be honest... I never read these books growing up, as I took much more of an interest in horror and scifi books...I grew up with Cirque Du Freak, The Demonata, Den of Shadows books, Pendragon and etc... which I do recommend. So I just never took an interest in these books when I was younger. I did see some of the first movie but never finished because it bored me so much, seemed shallow like it was just trying to ride on the coattails of the Harry Potter books and other YA adaptations... kinda still believe that about the movie. I think the movie killed any interest I might have had. HOWEVER, after having watched several music videos using fan produced artwork and a song to tell the story, set the tone and endear these characters... I have to say that I am very impressed... this takes real talent... the excellent choices in artwork combined with lyrics has actually gotten some tears from me just from using my imagination to fill in the blanks and create context. Comments also helped in that area as well... it's funny in its own way, a youtube tribute to the books shows so much more passion, translation of themes, and was able to do for me what the big budget film failed... convince me to actually give the books a chance and order them.. thank you.

I wish people would understand how they are more than just books for some people and stop teasing me for liking them so much.
