Personally I absolutely love Stukov and his kit feels amazing, zerg and appropriate. He needs some tweaks (namely bugfixes, lower burst heal, higher pustule damage, buffed flailing swipe) but other than that I have no complaints. Why does everyone think infested terrans+apocalysk+alexander=Stukov?? Those are only in co-op! Even in the campaign, Stukov's kit was very similar to this (regenerative aura+corrosive blast). Similarly, no one thinks Brutalisks and Leviathans when thinking about Abathur, because he was first in Heroes and then in co-op and people had nothing to compare him to. Either way, amazing video as always, Lowko! Keep up the great work :D

+Piotr Kasznia He had the ability yes, but kerrigan had tons of abilities that didn't make it in. Even dehaka could spawn stuff because sc is based around armies. HotS isn't. And the one mission (singular) Stukov appears in was not based on infestation.

It's kinda funny if you think long about co-op heroes. I mean, Raynor doesn't do things he does in co-op, same with Kerrigan, Artanis, Abathur and even Alarak. The only hero who's abilities are almost similar is Zagara, but it's probably because Zagara already summons bunch of zergs in HotS. The fact that Stukov doesn't do things like in co-op is absolutely fine.

We have enough of each role of hero, they could add 20 more assassins and people would still whine about the summoner heroes. It's stupid to think that we needed more supports and that we should take characters and twist their lore to fit a role.

Lowko... I am so glad that i took a look at Stukov BEFORE watching you struggle with him xD Healing IS consumed. It is sometimes in the process of transfering. It doesn't get affected by the D in this case. No additional healing, no consumption. Biotic armor only gives 50 armor to the MAIN target of your Q, and is not given again if re-applied(talent later on).

I am a fan of this idea for Stukov. The devs went for the infestation idea by infesting allies and enemies with a pathogen. The ults seems wonky ill be honest but as far as the viruses go they seem to fit very well. Although mass infested units would be cool. We do not want another Xul or Azmodan in the game. The fact that he is a healer is great because HotS needs more diversity for supports. I think some kind of summoning a support unit would have been a welcome ult as the focus on the arm seems out of place.

As far as supporting ults goes for Stukov I can only come up with things similar to Morales' ults. One or Two infested medics that healing beam allies that you can target would be cool (less hps to the target compared to morales) or an infection that (again similar to Morales) would boost the target's Damage (spell and autoattack) while slowing their movement speed. There are plenty of other things that could have been done and for me at least, it is cool to see other people's ideas for what could have been for the Infested Commander.

to me only the swipe is a turn-off, love the lurking arm and the shove, the swipe might/could, if not even should be something related to his infestations and summons even if adapted to fit more of a support role type of functionality TBH

Because the whole summoning thing has been covered already. Yes, it would fit him better lore wise, I also adore him the way he is as a co-op commander in Starcraft. But it isn't a fair comparison because HotS and Starcraft are two different games. To me, HotS feels more like a re-imagination than trying to be lore accurate. It is a MOBA after all. Zagara, Abathur, and Xul, they do the summoning thing so well there's no point in making Stukov the same way.

I agree about his kit. It's not quite what I expected Stukov to have as abilities in HotS. We had him in a mission during Heart of the Swarm, and I hoped they would have given him somethign akin to that ( at which point he would either become a specialist most likely )

I feel like they needed a "support" zerg hero so they mashing and mixing stuffs into Stukov to make him into suport hero. It's cool how they play around the concept of "infestation" as a "virus" since "zerg virus" was mention in the SC2 WoL by Dr.Hanson. So I guess it makes some kind of sense to play around the virus concept but Stukov as a commander and a hero during the campaign in SC2 play more around "infestation" rather than just "virus", so I think Stukov is a victim hero just to fill the role left out in the zerg hero roaster. They could made him base on lore but instead they made him just to fill roles.

I like the fact that they added Stukov into the game, but I feel like it is not him. They focused on the fact that he has a Zerg arm more than the fact that he is a very great general that leads unending swarms of infested units. If he was able to infest friendly minions and make them stronger, and his build was all about infesting the base and minions, he would feel more like him.

BTW, he seems OP because I think his healing is bugged right now from his (level 4?) quest talent that increases Kill-Switch healing by 50% at completion, wherein you get the bonus without even taking the talent. There was a good reddit post about this yesterday

something tells me that they where going to make zenyatta, (judging by the "+" "-" things from the healing and the debuff he has) but they realized that there are no SC2 heroes and decided to make him stukov instead (changing his other skills)

TBH Stukov's kit fits fine here... he is an "infested" (diseased) human who is basically patient zero and infects other humans. I see nothing wrong in the logic of lore here. Plus Massive shove the ney sayers.

Yea I feel like they had the idea for this kit but didn't have anyone readily available to use it for. Or at least on someone that could be worked in well. So they wen't with a "popular" character that hasn't had their powers expanded upon that greatly in the game. It sorta makes sense because when you team up with Stukov in Heart of the Swarm you have that mission with the virophages and pathogens and all that. But yea I feel like they wanted this kit in the game more than they wanted Stukov

Applying positive/negative buffs and detonating them (usually through skillshots, not here though) is a very popular concept in LoL and I think this is what they tried to emulate with Stukov. I will have to play him to get a definitive feel of the hero but so far I feel a bit underwhelmed: applying buffs and slowing enemies doesn't really seem like the idea of "powerful zerg/terran hybrid" that Stukov represents in SC2 Co-op. I think there are a lot of more creative ideas to use to represent infestation that they could have gone for, but knowing Blizzard they probably tried them and there's a reason why they aren't in the game, right? I hope!

All the abilities and all are fine, but one thing i dont like about stukov is his q and w ability sprite? His skill animation. The q and w ability doesnt look like what he would actually shoot out. To make it easier to understand if Blizzard would make a cinematic of stukov fighting, those skill animations would be so akward. They just look like animations that are just made for the in game skill. It would have been much better if he wouldve threw a zerg looking bug? or some sort that actually exploded when pressing d.

Dude of course I'm serious...! Stukov was killed and infested during the events taking place within Starcraft 1. Granted his infestation was only revealed through scenarios released after Brood War, but even before that it was common knowledge among SC1 fans that Stukov had been left dead within a swarm of Zerg and what happened to Kerrigan could well happen to him as well... (If you still don't believe me checkout Samwise Didier's Starcraft artwork in '99-'00 during the release of the new scenarios and you'll see how he already drew Stukov infested with very similar features to what we have today)

Sure the infestation would have been cool, but really what they did feel more unique, they can always release another hero later on that didn't exist in the lore before hots (like what they did with morales and hammer) and have him have infestation abilities... Now that i think about it, they could even make infested Ariel Hanson that would be amazing!

Here's my 1-2 "fix the impression/authenticity problem" punch: 1 = *The biggest TURN-OFF* of his kit is the *Flailing Swipe* (no doubt, I think we can ALL agree on that one), not only it looks like a redundant overuse of the arm but also looks like an ability that would fit a tank/warrior rather 2 = Give him a summon that would either empower ally survivability or outright assist survival, still = there's a bit of my personal suggestion I'd like to share as a suggestion *Infested bunker* = save an injured ally inside for a while, even cooler if it could uproot/move/root back like in SC2 co-op commander, or even use as a form of temporary transport to leapfrog an ally with large AA range in order to engage ?, things like that :) IN FACT = here's a bit of "shameless" self-marketing but hopefully get some more feedback TBH www.reddit.com/r/heroesofthestorm/comments/6ks8x6/things_that_may_be_a_bit_wrong_with_stukov/

Agree completely with what was said about him not feeling like stukov. No alexander, no infested terran? His two ultis could have been variations of the same ulti. Wand the temaining space could have been given to an alexander ult or something. Skillset sucks. Just average support moves

what I gather: ranged AA is garbage tier, you will NEVER AA as you have to position yourself first for abilities spamming E is a bad idea, seems free, but it's just a waste for a .5s silence you would have save yourself and team several times if you picked the other heroic... Stukov have no Alexander, no infested terrans, can't corrupt buildings, can't buff minions...
