The fossil fuel is not doing the damage it is those who don't make efficient use of it. If you want to shout green the speak with the Chinese who emit more pollution than the rest of the world combined they have 1,161 coal fired power station and most of the coal is hand dug. China is responsible for 93% of new coal power construction China also last year made 1.51 billion metric tons of cement more than the rest of the world.
