As long as characters existed that could nullify powers, who were inherently immune to peters empathic abilities, Peter didn't have to be considered over powered. Sylar and Peter could be both be bested with smarts. Taking peters powers was the turning point of the series that started the decline it never recovered from. He was boasted as being the savior, and sylar as the defiler, both equal in powers but opposite in intention. The show worked with this formula. I don't know why they decided to change it. The sad truth is, they took Peter's powers for budget concerns. It was too expensive to do all that cgi.

The reason why heroes ended is because it is a tv show. they couldn't show all of the stuff that you wanted to see such as when future peter and future sylar fought in the future (duh). the dystopian futures were always cooler than the show was.

I think they just set the bar too high in the fist series, I think the show was hit by a string of bad luck following that such as the writers strike which left season 2 with lots of plot holes, the introduction of the circus didn't help either. I think the villains of the show never seemed to last long, Adam Monroe and Arthur Petrelli should have both had longer runs.

I remember watching some special feature about the style of this theme and other renditions of it in the show. I forget the name, but it involved an "attack" of the strings, with escalation as the main idea. Needless, to say it made every scene.

Season 3: I hated everyone who wasn't Sylar because everyone was just unlikeable. And then the last 5 - 10 minutes of Season 3 killed that for me, too. There was one good thing about that season and it was Sylar's character development and his one-liners. I'm a fangirl. I admit it. Also, he kills the one character I just wanted to see die since the end of Season 1. Good for him. Season 4: I can't STAND the group of villains as of now. PLEASE tell me they get better. Hahah

eh guys, I found out that the reason why it is impossible to carry on the original series be cus all the original have grown past heroes. Just look at Hayden Penniterrie , all maried and a mother, and moving on to bigger and better things on Nashville. All of the cast have grown out of their roles into something better. Or at least that's what the writers on Heroes reborn say. Actually the original cast said that they would love to come back. Stupid network TV, only care about your stupid ratings and viewers

I just wish heroes had managed to find a plot that truly worked after season 1. Season 1 was fantastic. It was powerful, emotionally resonant and really made use of the ensemble. After that everyone involved just seemed to run out of ideas and then, after a while, enthusiasm.

@karkrashful I'm working on Stationery Voyagers. The scope is even bigger than Heroes; but I've reimagined a lot of the characters after watching Heroes, taking hints on how to flesh them out better. Pextel now behaves more like Peter than in my original sketches. Cybomec has taken a few pages from Sylar, and Emperor Alhox now has doubts similar to Nathan. Garret Nobee is specifically based on Noah. However, the Mystery Wanderer still remains an homage to Smokey Man from X-Files.

My opinion of Heroes (this coming from someone partway through Season 4 as of now) Season 1: Fantastic. Slow at the start, but unnecessarily slow so you get a feel for the characters. Even so, it's addicting after the first episode on first view. When rewatching, though, I just want to skip to the episode before Homecoming haha Just because that's when everything picks up and is absolutely phenomenally addicting. Season 2: Decent. A few cop-outs, but I love Kensei and Hiro's timeline.
