Hector mentions the episode that "that one will make him cry" ... that little bit gave me Kubo and the two strings vibes. Aardman studios, (Wallace and Gromit) I will be ordering a shirt from that episode once it airs.

I vote for Visions Volume 1 reactions on KZbin as well, would love to see you guys’ reactions to those episodes. Maybe my favorite thing about Star Wars Visions is that it’s not canon. Don’t get me wrong, I love everything in canon (yes, including all three of the sequels), but knowing Visions isn’t canon allows me to turn off the “larger story, how does all of this connect” part of my brain and just enjoy each episode for what it is, with “what it is” usually being fantastic.

The first volume of Visions was dope. Some episodes were better than others, and I expect that will be the same for the second volume. The animation looks incredible, especially on that first one. I'm so excited for the Cartoon Saloon short. They worked on beautiful films like The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, Wolfwalkers and The Breadwinner. The styles are simplistic but are built from really strong shape language and influenced by Irish art and folklore/mythology. Highly recommend their stuff. I'm also excited for Aardman and Punk Robot's shorts as I'm a sucker for stop motion!!!

What’s really cool is that all these animation studios are coming from all around the world. We’re going to see how Star Wars is revered globally. Contrary to some popular beliefs, the first season for the most part actually wasn't groundbreaking in terms of creativity or novelty. And I don't mean that in a bad way: it was a project about "What if the famous traditional anime stories, but in Star Wars?" and while it brought a breath of VERY fresh air to Star Wars, there's a difference between that and how creative Visions itself was. For example the droid boy becoming Force-sensitive is direct adaptation of Astro Boy combining with Star Wars elements, down to the boy's name. Which is why I believed season 1 was an experimental stage where, rather than go all out creative, they're playing safer and first try how a Star Wars anime would work, and if they do make a season 2 they'll then start probing into more daring fields. And from the trailers, it looks like that's exactly what's happening! I'm almost intimidated by the possibilities. And hopefully there will be not just a season 3 but a canon Star Wars anime series.
