24:03 Alberto deserves a LOT more credit for genuinely loving his sister. How exactly is Alberto supposed to get Sofia released from Arkham when the man who framed her to put her there then kept her there - HIS FATHER - is still controlling EVERYONE involved? By Sofia’s own account, Alberto visited her every week (after those 1st 6 months of isolation without visitors). And Sofia got released the same week that Carmine was killed - that is NOT a coincidence.

Alberto definitely cared for Sofia. That's why she's so set on vengeance for his murder.

You're never supposed to doubt that Alberto and Sofia genuinely care for each other and he was trying to help her.
@GodKnowsWhatIsInHere4 сағат бұрын
Yeah, nothing in the show implies otherwise. In fact, I'm now wondering if Alberto's alcohol and drug problems have to do with what happened to Sofia, since he looked fine back then and Sofia from Episode 1 didn't seem to know that he had issues at all.

Mark Strong is consistently getting type cast, and that type is DC villain. Like Stan Lee have cameos in every Marvel movie, if James Gunn has the guts, he should make Mark Strong play a villain in every DC movie 😂

My moment from the episode has to be when Sofia stands her ground in front of the family and tells them that she`s going to start a new life all on her own.
@NerdsEngage5 сағат бұрын
For this show to make me not want Batman to show up, to brake up the amazing storytelling is a huge testament to the show. Also Mark Strong should have been Carmine the whole time. Give Cristin Milioti her Emmy.

i disagree about alberto. sofia even said that he visited her multiple times and was always there for her. and it seemed they were close before her imprisonment. i don’t think he was being fake.

It seems to me Oz told Carmine she was taking to the reporter because if he didn’t and he found out on his own Oz prolly would have been in Arkham with her or just straight killed. He did what he always does: look out for himself
@blackmanwithcomputer3 сағат бұрын
He had no choice. He's her driver. He's the expendable one. He didn't even know why she was talking to the reporter. Look at what Carmine did to his own child. Oz was definitely in self-preservation. Especially after she told Oz that he doesn't matter, showing that even the nice Falcone still views him as nothing at the end of the day.

The head of Arkham is named Ventris, which I assume is in reference to Floyd Ventris, a very minor Batman villain named Mirror Man

All you guys do is try to predict the show😂 and did you forget that her brother was the ONLY ONE in the family that showed any attention? His drinking and drug problem was because he couldn’t deal with not being able to help her.

As Sophia's path has been shown more in the series, it has been shown that she was sane because she simply tried to trust Falcone. But still, knowing that he wouldn't care so that no one would betray him. He sent his own daughter to Arkham asylum. And even that treatment that was unfairly left to him by his father, his own family, is a joy. Not because of the injustice she received, but... that she was prepared to kill her own family and that it is... and showing that there is now no one capable of hurting her!!!

There is a famous short story called The Yellow Wallpaper. It’s about a woman that was committed to an insane asylum against her will by her husband under false pretenses. However sane she was, which seems like completely, the reader is left to try make sense of the story she is telling after all the mistreatment and isolation has hollowed out whoever she was.

Applauso 🎉that’s all we ask for is good writing. Whoever wrote this is masterful the way they took story telling details from Carmines portrayal in The Batman to weave that into the Hangman plot line; and subvert expectations was super clever. Nice play off of Jeph Loebs stories. Gave us a mini mystery and answered it in this episode. Who is the Hangman? 👏🏾

They wouldn’t have to pay everyone off…at a certain point you are just part of the system. To the non bribed people in the hospital, Sophia would just be a patient with little rights and zero credibility. Her medical history and criminal record/sentence, albeit falsified, would carry much more weight than any thing she said.
