Horikoshi actually believes the anime is a better adaptation in the manga with proportions. He draws how he likes and loves the way the anime looks. Finding and exploiting the Hero's weakness (Endeavor? Battle of attrition. Eraserhead? Outrange him or "Pocket Sand" (his eyegear may prevent most of sand, but that gap is bit wide). Mirko? Big speaker or dog whistle. Best Jeanist? Wear a Diving Suit.). As for the "why", either "throphy hunter" motif like Kraven or Predator, just for the fun of it, money, part of "Quirkless Brotherhood Squad", ect.

the female characters look so different from the manga because well, the male characters do too. animators need to use a different style that's both better in motion and more likely to sell the series. also, especially with anime, they will tend to keep using the same style if the original creator has seen it and likes it, I get the feeling that Kohei likes the style if you don't understand those simple things, you don't know anything about anime or animation

This is ridiculous, of course the studio is gonna make some changes, I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to copy something exactly. Not sure if that’s how it is in Japan but, these “fans” really piss me off. Learn to appreciate art! People will take liberties to make something as ACCURATE as possible but they won’t copy it exactly. This shouldn’t even be an argument in the first place.

To be fair it'd probably be advantageous to her to pack on some pounds if she was doing a big raid like Fatgum but also she'd have to be careful because putting on too much weight would shame her and her family name in Japan. And reminder she comes from a prestigious family. Also unlike Fatgum her fat is only ammunition for her quark it doesn't enhance her power and she needs to remain more nible for melee combat because of that and thus wouldn't want to be chubby all the time.

Literally the only time Nejire looks different to her manga counterpart is in her uniform. When you compare how she looks in her hero costume, the anime and manga look near identical. Its far more likely whoever drew the uniform scenes made a mistake or misjudged it when translating it from manga to anime. God forbid an animator makes a mistake.

I remember I watched a mha movie where in the beginning of the movie momo looked like the manga example in this video then she spends most of the movie creating things to fight and defend with. At the end of the movie she looked wrinkly and deflated... Like skin on bones. They dont focus on it but when the day is saved and the dust is settling you catch a few glimpses of her in the background among other characters and she definitely looks super deflated.

I think Chubby Momo is cute, but I also know scientifically she uses a lot of the fat so she doesn't stay that way. Actually her Quirk is really interesting since it seems like her powers also increase metabolism to the point it turns in fat and calories almost instantly. It makes me wonder how her and Suneater's quicks exactly work, they're not like other quirks. Since it uses metabolism and food for their different abilities. Heck Suneater's quirk just creates mass somehow.
