I find it so gross when people say things like “all police are bastards”. Yes, some of them are terrible people, but there are terrible people in all job fields. Most police officers protect people from other, more dangerous people. If police officers weren’t doing their job, there would be so many problems. I don't support getting rid of the police but I think that they need to get better training that is less violent. Most of their funding goes into training with firearms, combat, etc. and that is important, but there should be at least equal training going into conflict deescalation and nonviolent maneuvers. Police HAVE handled things in nonviolent ways before. I'd like to see more of that and less of whatever was going on in that Derek Chauvin video.

As someone who's a hispanic/latino mix and faced racism a few times in my life, I'm not for ACAB and I think it's just plain hateful. I've had a few kind police officers help me with my own personal life and it's just the cruel dickheads who get all the attention, there's even been multiple cops in my town who are against brutality and will do their best to help who they can in a civilized manner, but it is a shame that there's a fucked up system that allows these terrible people to bypass background checks. The word Gaijin isn't offensive in and of itself, the context it is used in can make it good or bad. it's short for gaikokujin, which literally translates to outside country person. The more accurate translation is foreigner or foreign national. The shorter form can be used as a casual/conversational reference to the above. It can also be used as derogatory. But since Japanese is a high context language, the word along with whatever context it's used in can make it good or bad. Source: lived 10 years in Japan and know the language.

Police are simply people who are paid to uphold the law. Sometimes people who take that job are bad. Sometimes the laws are bad. But being part of law enforcement very very rarely automatically makes you a bad person. The only time where a police force would generally be 'evil' would be in an authoritarian government. And by that I mean North Korea or China, not the US. Also, I do think art can be political in the sense that expressing your beliefs through art can be a good and productive thing. Art, in some sense is often political on some level. Many stories explore deeper themes with humanity, which can be related to politics since politics is the business of humanity at it's core. But not all art is political, or explicitly so, and politics, namely divisive politics doesn't need to be dragged into everything. Entertainment and Art can often be more than just pure fun and games and have deeper meanings, but it doesn't always have to be a big drama, or treated as such. Some people really need to get a grip lol
