Thanks so much B) That is a good point. I've been getting PI the last week or two in raid so it does kinda make it hard to see what my real damage would have been without it. I have some logs from a few weeks ago where I didn't have PI, but they were when I was playing destro, or was 10 ilvl lower, definitely not the best for a modern comparison. Maybe I'll ask to NOT get PI this week, lol.

As a prior top 100 WR warlock turned gamer dad, spending about 8 hrs at the PC per week (which ncludes 6hrs raid). I highly appreciate the content. Saves me valuable prepping time ^^ Even tho non 99's dont make for as good thumbnails. I would love to see commentary vids of your Mythic Progress Kills. Highlighting your rotational gameplan, movement patterns and mistakes. Would be interesting to watch and learn how to prepare for more challenging content than Heroic.

Yo chunky video. I also appreciate you saying when you are being too greedy and that it only works because of your ilvl (like in the bloodhound horror when you are a million years away from your healers). It’s good to see someone acknowledging when they are putting themselves in a dangerous position and why.

I used to exclusively main affliction lol. Swapped to demo during Dragonflight though. I really appreciate your vids, even if we play different specs I feel like my playstyle has improved by studying the logs in the way you recommended (my guild would kill me if I didn’t run Shadowfury though lol).

I'm happy that the video was helpful! Affliction single target is okay, we are really reliant on our cooldowns. When you are between cooldown sets, your damage will start to drop a bit. There is an awesome website called Archon.gg that has a lot of information about what stats you want to use! Great video as always I have two questions. Does crescendo procs take priority over nightfall procs outside of opener? Also when you pop your trinks do you pop it before or after soul glare?

Yes. Whichever you have at two stacks takes priority, since you will waste any further procs. That being said, I prioritize crescendo over nightfall. I usually use trinkets after darkglare.

@@krozothebozo I am always doing 600k avg dps with 614 ilvl so every piece of information is ok for me tho :D i want to ask a question; we have a realy strong dps window, but we also need like 5-7 casts to reach there, so I always find myself runnin arouund to dodge. How am i supposed to find a position/time to cast my openers + spam raptures + keep my dots up + manage resouurces ?... %95 of the time there is a frontal/ground aoe/CC coming to me when i press my soul rot + pvp tinket macro.. im so close to rerolliing a warrior.. :D

Totally get it, lol. There is a lot going on in M+ so it can be hard to have uptime when the pulls are big. The biggest thing for me has been familiarity with the dungeons. If you know what mechanics can come from what packs, you can prepare for them properly. I'll list some things I try to think about when im in a dungeon, maybe they can help you too :) Try to precast your haunt or seed of corruption if you see the tank is about to pull a pack If a pack is about to die, save a soul shard or two so you can use vile taint/seed of corruption instantly for the next pack If you are getting constant mechanics, use your instant casts (tab target and refresh your agony while dodging, mortal coil for healing, etc..) Shadowfury is awesome in m+, there are quite a few mechanics that you can cancel by stunning the packs. The big green explosions on the ground that the packs before the last boss in Mists of Tirna Scythe, for example. You can stun those mobs and they will stop casting the green exploding area. I've also been running shadow bolt instead of drain soul. While you miss out on the soul shards that drain soul can give you, you get a lot more mobility with the nightfall procs and shadow bolt since nightfall makes shadow bolt an instant cast.

is drain soul more damage than shadowbolt? because nightfall procs are much easier to keep up on with SB

Drain soul does double damage in execute range, which is really strong on a lot of boss fights. Shadow bolt does a good amount of damage, but gets beaten out on sims because of the execute damage. With drain soul you can also DS any adds as they die to get an extra soul shard. My first few weeks of this expac, though, I was exclusively using Shadow bolt in raid because I thought it was really easy to use with nightfall haha.

Gotta work with what we got haha. Nah, actually warlock is pretty good, I can't complain. All 3 specs are viable in different scenarios which is great. I've found that playing only affliction is a bit tough once you get into mythic, though. The fights generally require a lot of mobility and it feels pretty bad getting a lot of mechanics during CDs as destro. Being able to swap to destro is awesome for the mobility and consistency, or demo for burst aoe damage. Other classes might not have the ability to just swap specs and have a completely different damage profile.

So basically if you are not lucky enough to get those trinkets, you are not going to perform this well. You can not farm them because they are raid drops. Last 2 bosses. Going with pugs will not make you get these easily. I killed every boss in every difficulty since day one and I don’t have either. Also no luck on the vault.

that's not necessarily true. while the trinkets I got quite lucky with are extremely good, you can do well with many other trinkets. On heroic queen ansurek for example, there are quite a few people in the top 100 parses without these trinkets. I even got a 95 parse today on my alt warlock with a m+ trinket and a delve trinket.

@@bordoyurekthis is the mentality that will keep you from improving You can look at the logs and see few at 95+% without the “meta” trinkets I’m parsing 92% on my best fights and I have two passive trinkets. And I’m 100% sure this video will help me push past the 92% without changing anything on my gear.

Yeah thats how the game works. If you get better gear, you do better damage. Thats how its always been. Its not like you cant play the game to the fullest if you dont have absolute BiS gear. Not everyone can get it in the first few weeks
