The counties won’t put funding where it’s really needed they’d rather put it in their pockets and friends that own the businesses around them. If they need rescuing though and the ambulance is busy on other emergencies they raise cane bout the rescues can’t run right to them

Huge shout-out to all of you first responders around the globe. My deepest respect for all you do. I've witnessed an accident happen right before my eyes when a cyclist got jolted from her bike by an inattentive motorist and she landed head first on the kerb (=curb). What you folks (fire, ambulance, HART, critical support team, police, A&E) are doing is larger than I have words for. I wish you will all that you do you will be able to coninue in your profession. I got to see an accident live in my life, you folks are dealing with accidents multiple times a day. Kudos.

Dear Banajay I want to thank you for the wonderful uploads. I am a carer for my elderly father, these videos keep me going ,especially on nights I can’t sleep. I wish we had this compassion and empathy in our health care system in the states. Everyone smiles and speaks so kindly. One of my life goals is to visit the UK. I’m 53.. I hope I make it!

At a very, very young age (I was the youngest flight nurse in the USA) I worked a natural disaster with over 300 dead, and hundreds either trapped or injured. Numerous times I flew out to the hospital with a patient AND innumerable body bags of many people I knew growing up. In times like that disaster and the car accident in this film, the ONLY thing that you can possibly do is JUST do your job. You don’t have the time or the energy to feel the horror of it until it’s over. Many first responders don’t return after this. Those that do return are amazing. I can’t think of a group of working people who need our support and prayers more than first responders. Blessings to all of you from a retired partner.

This episode is a masterclass in all that remains to be learned and improved upon when it comes to emergency medical care. Over 100 responders to a seven patient incident strikes as spectacular overkill though I realize this includes extrication teams and police. There doesn't seem to be a contingency plan when all the medical crews stand down to go into an immediate debriefing while someone who turns out to possibly have sepsis waited for more than six hours. I know this night is a unique combination of events that happens infrequently but there must be a better way to call in mutual aid and to get crews available faster. Of course educating the public to know when not to tie up the service would be helpful as well though likely will never be reliable or effective.

Totally agree. Seems to be a hit and miss. I've only been in ground ambulances twice, and both crews sucked. Air ambulance once and what little I remember of the crew they were great.

I don't know what you're talking about they handled it better than what we would hear in the US So basically they left people without help because they dealt with a fatality accidenthere 41 falls waiting at 1 time for hours That was one of the most unorganized scenes I've ever seen in my life

But I will say this...when it comes to dealing with major emergencies they focuse on getting help for the ones in need...not worrying about their own feelings...that's delt with after the fact. Having to have services and being the server is 2 totally different things.

I did 10 years in the fire service where I live. I can so relate to what these responders are going through. Where I live, everybody knows everybody. The last call I responded to was a multi car crash with numerous fatalities. There were kids. One was in my kid’s class at school. That call has haunted me for years. I hope that the responders in this show get the help they might need to heal. The work is hard. When it’s good, it’s really good. And when it’s bad, it’s really bad.

Wow- what outstanding jobs these crews do and especially the multi- vehicle RTC. …. Decades ago I was an EMT and I’ll tell you that RTCs, especially at night, with just one or two vehicles are chaotic. My deepest admiration to these crews.

I sympathize with them so much after seeing what they saw on that motorway. I saw something similar but not as large in scale. I was driving home from work at about 11 at night, and the road I normally take was closed for a car crash response. I caught a glimpse just in time to see white sheets draped over two people. I hugged my parents so tight that night. That kind of thing changes a person.

R.I.P. To those we lost 🙏 I can’t imagine what all the families went though, still probably going though with the loss of their members life😢 This was so difficult to watch..I also feel for ALL those involved in trying to help and save the lives of these people. Medics, firefighters, police, just all who were here helping to rescue these people..What a horrific accident, such a tragedy 😢 People do NOT need to race on the roads like this…Such a tragedy 😢❤

It’s so important for us to see what is happening on the other side of a profession. When the paramedic cried out “I want to call my mum” my heart shattered. And the bond the teams have with each other and their colleagues is unmatched. There is so much I want to say, but who wants to read THAT lol. I do wonder what it would look like if we had a step down option, something for less serious cases, poor Betty and her daughter Beverly, she was far more ill than Bev even realized, and getting to hospital much sooner was so important. I’m in the U.S. where I know I can call on friends or family to take me, or very least call a Taxi or Uber, something. I can’t imagine how it felt having no one to turn to or reach out to, I’m just thinking out loud that a medical transport option might benefit the NHS, where the 9-9-9 dispatchers can determine who needs immediate care from an EMT, and who just needs to get to A&E, 6-1/2 hours ago Betty just needed someone to get her off the floor and drive her to hospital.

I have to say UK paramedics are so caring and sweet. Not like our paramedics here in the US. The young blonde paramedic did so well during the crash scene. She was on the ball, even asking if there was anything she could help with anything. It was a bad scene/wreck. I'd of wanted to talk to my mom too and cried 😢 ❤

To the medic who went to the gentleman and asked if there was anything she can do, she let him know she didn’t know where her partner was at the moment..I thought she was BRILLIANT at working this accident..she remained calm every time I saw her and she did her job just fantastically. Anywho, when the gentleman looked at her and smiled, told her to calm down, I think she was VERY calm at that moment and throughout. I felt he kinda belittled her. For one, when he smiled at her and she had that little laugh back at him…that was to assure him she was fine. She was doing exactly what she was saposta do, ask a leading medic or worker, someone above her. I know this isn’t the time to even say something, but right off the bat I felt it was a male female issue as well she was young and he showed some power he shouldn’t have especially then. I will shut up now. It just got my attention right off.

The poor teams that were on that major rtc. That must have been so traumatising. Then for the woman at the call centre to be abused by the man who was shot in his backside. What an ignorant a**hole! For him to abuse the ambulance paramedic too. People like him don’t deserve our wonderful ambulance and nhs staff.
