Lilac-ish, though there are occasions where it would appear blue. Of course, not to be confused with the dark, purple void magic. Necromancy also has purple-ish tints here and there (but it's rather rare).

Medivh thought that as the Guardian of Azeroth that he was duty bound to master all forms and sources of magic. Including Fel, which has always been more powerful (in terms of destructive force) than Arcane. Whether he's still possessed by Sargeras in this continuity is up for debate though, so he may or may not have been influenced in that choice.

@@ransac16 wrong Medivh is possesd since Birth from Sargaras, a Titan who helps to Create the Universe, he betrayed the other titans because he want to destroy the Universe the all created together for that he build a Army of Demons, Thats The legion we all knew from Warcraft 3 the Undead Army is under his command. He Tried to destroy Azeroth before. Well he not try to destroy it, it is so in Azertoh is a Titan he want to awake him and infect him with his dark magic. But back when he tried Medivehs Mother the Former Guardian fight against him bun in his defeat he made a Victory by placing his dark magic in Medivhs Mother so he can Consume the next Guardian which was Medivh. But the History of Guadians is also not an easy one. Before Medivh a Council choose someone who posses this power, Aegwynn Medivhs Mother didn´t want to be manipulated and she saw that this geezers from the council only do whats best for them. So she manipulated one of the Strongest Mages from the Council to make the Next Guardian herself. Pretty interessting the complete Lore i am still reading books. I am at "beyond the dark Portal" and man the Lore is so good

It's not confirmed in this continuity if he's possessed by Sargeras, a random demon, or if it's just the Fel itself transforming him (which it is known to do). A lot of things were changed in this movie, which is itself a new continuity (yay more timelines!). Some examples; Gul'dan being the only Orc warlock by this point, Varian apparently being of the Arathi Bloodline through his familial connection to Lothar (Queen Taria is Lothar's sister), and then there's magical box lady Alodi, who is a half elf male (no connection to boxes yet) in mainline canon. And the founding of The Alliance is taking place years before it actually did in main canon, where it took the destruction of Stormwind for the other kingdoms to start paying attention (Deathwing's fault).
