Something like the spell Contingency...... It's about time someone used that in a movie. Algarth's Embattlement is a 9th level variant of that spell that holds up to six 9th level spells. A favorite of Elminster and the Seven Sisters.

@@deanooooooo6496 no. CR is not equal to the lvl of the PC. a creature CR1 means she can give an average challenge of four PC lvl 1. the Archmage is CR 12 and they have spell of the 9th lvl (1 slot).

I think the best magic moment in the entire Harry Potter franchise was when Dumbledore and Voldemort fought each other. The way there was no background music, just the sound of their magic as they attacked and defended back and forth with various spells instead of just spamming Expelliarmas or Avada Kedavra was so phenomenal. It sucks that that never ever happened again.

Considering time stop is among the list of spells? Between 19 and 22. But she also has cantrips. That being said, she also cast meteor swarm in the same fight and is basically a lich.

@@JohnDowson100 The character sheet they have for the NPCs are really bad since they don't reflect the characters at all. But as far as Simon goes, he can cast up to level 6 spells which puts him at about level 11.

Teamwork and trickery, plus she got sloppy bc she was angry. I mean she STARTS the battle with meteor swarm, she probably did that in the heat of the moment and expected it to one shot them. She has lots of chances to just leave or even get some distance to snipe them, but she keeps arrogantly engaging them close-up. If she'd been thinking clearly she would have skedaddled after the time stop, or at least teleported to high ground, but she was pissed and felt like it was personal so she wanted to make a speech and use finger of death and that's how they got the bracelet on her. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So ive seen lots of Badlurs Gate 3 memes and know it can be a little... poignant with the options for relations. And because of that i couldnt help but just see the game as a joke. But as that has dwindled down, ive been intrigued to try it again, not just with a new character like always, but actually play it now that BETA is done and gone. Ive been really loving Warlock, which surprises me. I love magic but i didnt think id go for a warlock. Actually its a warlock with druid for a subclass. I figured not only is it a neat concept, but even nature has deadly decay (warlock), and that decay sometimes needs a little remedy(druid). But this makes me want to see more and more live action D&D

I never understood the part of her plan where she would have to wait for the smoke to envelop all people in the arena. But none of the doors were barred or blocked. Meaning at any point anyone with two brain-cells would have seen the red smoke and jumped from their seats to run towards the exit as this clearly was not normal. Its pretty weird they didn't start running any sooner as even a commoner would know a weird bald lady chanting in the sky below tendril clouds and spewing red smoke is a VERY bad thing. (and I assume they recognize a Thayan wizard in the red attire as they are well known as a big threat.)

If look at the stats for the horn its kinda disappointing. (The Beckoning Death arrives at the start of your next turn and manifests as a crimson cloud of smoke that fills a 30-foot-radius sphere centered on the horn. The sphere doesn’t move with the horn. At the start of each of your turns, the sphere’s radius increases by 30 feet. The cloud disappears after 10 minutes or when your concentration on the effect ends. Any creature (including you) that has 9 or fewer hit points when it ends its turn in the cloud is slain by the Beckoning Death. A Humanoid killed in this way instantly transforms into a zombie. The zombie obeys the commands of the horn’s creator, the lich Szass Tam. Once you use the horn’s property, it can’t be used again for 1 year.) There are other ways of making zombies that are more effective. This Magic item is trash!!!
