Sorry - I made an inaccurate statement at 16.04. I called that Red Maple as a Deshojo - That tree is in fact a Seigen.

Hello Peter, Thank you so much for doing a tour of your nursery for all of us shut-ins! I have a question about the Tridents. Is it possible the location of the leafing Trident is because it is somewhat sheltered by the white screen wall, which may also provide some reflection of sun back onto the tree, so that it is warmed more than the other Tridents? Also, off topic: You have a lot of planes flying overhead. Are you in the flight path of Heathrow Airport? Thank you again. Be well!

Thank you for the wonderful stroll Peter, it's 5am and very dark, sipping my coffee and watching your trees is very calming, brought my trees out of the poly tunnel, had a hail storm but lucky not too strong, but I sat out with a plastic tarp and got wet just in case, all my maples are going into leaves except the couple of small tridents, I am guessing they are later. Enjoy spring and thanks again for a great video, I always learn something.

What is the meaning of touch wood?
@jt5029
@jt5029 4 жыл бұрын
@@Eza_yuta it's a superstition / old wives tail that you touch a piece of wood for good luck, before you make a statement where you could jinx yourself I. E. "we are in good health" say knock on wood for good luck or so we don't jinx ourselves and get the opposite desire of said statement

@G32dwm
@G32dwm 4 жыл бұрын
@@Eza_yuta In ancient Greece, people, when faced with difficult times in their lives, would walk through the woods and mimic their problems by hitting the tree trunks to be heard by the "nymphs", who could help them when they heard the problem. It was transferred to the Romans with the touch and over the years it has been carried to this day. Here in Greece we still maintain the habit of hitting the wood when we refer to difficult or bad situations.

Thank You Peter and others at Herons Bonsai for making the time to record and post all these videos about your craft. I am from Maine, USA and have been interested in bonsai for a while. After finding some of your tutorial videos on care, styling, and potting techniques you have inspired me to start one of my own. These are certainly weird and difficult times but I have found it calming to watch your videos. It certainly helps to have something to tend to while sequestered away indoors. I send you my best wishes in these times.

Thank you, Peter, for another perfect video. Just what the doctor ordered in so many ways!!! It calms and relaxes our nerves, as it engages our minds to focus on timeless and good things. You do so much good, even more than you can realize!! The walk-through of the plants also gives us another lesson in discernment of bonsai and the vast array of knowledge to be absorbed. Please continue your videos in whatever vein you feel best. I love the final view, as well, of your trees across the beautiful pond. Having watched the video of trimming those trees, it’s great to also see the distant view of how your nursery garden views all compliment each other!! The waterside marigolds to the beautiful trees. Each has it’s own place, but contributes to the whole. Also loved the peek of the stones at the beginning of video with your dry garden. Would love to know your thought process of these particular stones in this placement. Your life is such a wealth of information and wisdom and inspiration for us all! You are the personification of a “young gardener”!

This is very exciting times for me, spring have slowly started to come to Norway, but here winter can still come back. Since i am fresh in the bonsai world and only have been doing it for a couple of years and all my trees are yamadories, i am very excited every spring to see who have made it and not. Right now of 24 trees, there is only 1 tree that have not got new shoots, so i am very pleased. The first year, almost 80% of my trees died. Now it look like more then 80% survive. And i have Heron Bonsai`s videos and tips to thank for most of that. Thank you! :)
