One take away from the Keith Code Cali superbike school I can share with others: Don't waste effort staring at the speedometer. It is a terrible distraction. Get in tune with the bike w/o regard to speed. You'll increase your lap times by not paying any attention to the speedo.

Yeah that’s why I deleted it on my SV. Matt wanted to leave it for the SP though

@@HeroRR When you do the track, thing again , let me know(central NH here) and quite envious of your freedom to do that stuff.. I'm passionate about that stuff. 100th Loudon bike week starts next weekend(6/10) I'd like to hit the Loudon track sometime that week. Seriously, if you are around, let me know. I am not able to do track days on a whim, I'm not broke but not rich either.

I really like the fact that you're focusing on body positioning instead of just getting that knee down like most of the guys and their whole body is twisted and ass completely off the seat. Also I really like how honda came out.

SEND IT BRO!! These bikes can take way harder gas and harder braking. And I echo what @explotey said below about body position. it's the least of your worries right now
@HeroRR Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. The coaches were going on about my body position so that’s why I’ve been trying to focus on it. But I’m ngl it’s been making me slower because I am having trouble concentrating on other factors like lines and braking etc.

@@HeroRR I think that's right, good call. My very first time at the track with my cbr600 I had the WORST "coach," who was really just an advanced level rider who got some discount track time out of signing up to be an instructor - not necessarily someone who is good at teaching. He criticized me for all types of things instead of building on whatever strengths I had and it pissed me the fuck off. Some of the coaches are great but not all of them, so it's worth checking their advice against your own gut feelings and other reference materials. Most important thing is to have fun

Great video, the bikes came along nicely, well done boys.! As for the track video, keep improving, body position is important but don't obsess over it, (i would say your upper body looks a bit out, )and if you want watch nevsys (mcn cheif tester, instructor and Racer talking video to get you started). Have fun.

When you say "going to the track" are you talking about Loudon? Maybe Canaan? I've done the Loudon track with Keith Code's course. Really was the best two days of motorcycle training I've ever done. I know Penguin does Loudon but I've never hooked up with them. If you have, please share. Thanks.

Put on a cheap Delkevic full system or slip-on on the SV. It will drop alot of weight.

If you can just walk the track to gain another perspective off what lines you need to take. Especially on smaller tracks.

Should use a light weight chain better acceleration and less hp loss with no o rings.

What organization do you book your track days through? I'm in the area and trying to get involved, and looking at both Tony's Track Days and Penguin Racing School. I saw your video on the PRS Track Experience, which I'm also interested in, but they don't have availability until the end of summer.

Oddly enough I bought my first 954 from a friend, she trusted shops to work on it and they just stole parts so she sold it to me for cheap. The ninja I purchased off facebook marketplace from a tow company, and the SP was bought off a dealer believe it or not, my friend worked for the dealership and they got it on trade in but legally couldn't sell it to a customer but they could sell it as is to me for an insane deal. I got lucky, right place at the right time. Having a reputation that I buy crap bikes and fix them up definitely help me out too. lol

you are focused too much on body position, you need to learn how to stop the bike. if you learn how to slow down the bike effectively into corners then speed will follow. once you are are carrying a lot of lean angle because of how high your corner speed is then you can start looking into body position. I would recommend to ride in a neutral riding position and practicing trail braking. focusing on brake and throttle application without using body position will easily carry you all the way into expert or A group.

Thank you! I’m going to take your advice and focus on braking more next time and less on BP. I knew something was wrong and spending so much time and energy on BP was tiring me out and making me actually slower. Thanks again man I’m taking your advice to heart.
