Heroscape Wave 2 Reveal and Initial Thoughts

After the reveal on Friday, what are your thoughts? Without doing too much diving and thinking, here are our initial thoughts and ideas?

1:33 Saylind as well! Insightful considerations for Hanwi's Darkness. 7:00 - wow, it certainly seems as if figures would still be in darkness. Great consideration. 15:04 Qhyerion's pronunciation here sounds a lot like 'carrion' and I now see this Vydar Kyrie as vulturesque and that's cool to me. Nice thoughts on reducing defense of Counterstrike! The comparable draft cost of these Kyrie is interesting and that 95 cost for Kilkorax is especially niggling. lol. 17:00 love the look of the Rolly-Boys, especiall the leaning poses of the left and right. The visage on the far right is my favorite - terrifying face! Iron Lich's sculpt reminds me of Kee-Mo-Shi. Excellent video, folks. Thanks for the fascinating food for thought

Commons would be too expensive and probably why they have not been introduced so far. We might not even see them. We are a far cry from the Walmart $8.99 expansion packs..... Thanks for the video!

Thanks for watching! It's like $8.99 for a single unpainted figure now. We steered away talking about the price in this video, as I think it requires a bit more thought than our initial reaction. The short answer for me is due to everything being unique I'm only going to buy this wave once, so $90 for hours of play doesn't sound like a bad deal for me personally. - Adam

Yeah I don’t believe that they are using Chinese child labor to paint the miniatures this time around. So while the 8.99 was nice, there was a dark reason for that.. not to mention inflation.

Thanks for the kind words. I was expecting the Wellspring to look like a pearl with swirls akin to a resin pour. It looks okay on the board to be played, just not what was promised. - Adam

Thanks so much! Has no one ever wanted to build a map that would fully utilize Sgt. Drakes' grapple arm? Personally I think it's a hard ask for people to get hype over terrain, especially when 95% of the community are veterans and have too much terrain already. - Adam

"Here's to more Heroscape." Well said. We all can have nitpicks, but what's previewed is solid so its great that it is arriving. Common squads are a great way to boost sales because they encourage purchasing multiples so it feels like it would be insanity to ignore them. In fact, if wouldn't be unreasonable for them to say something like "these are best fielded with at least 3 copies" and packaging them in package that includes 3 squads at a time. If you want that 4th one you'd end up having to buy 2 packs and trade away the spares or something. Not the most fan-friendly situation but production run sizes could require something like that to remain profitable.

Yeah I think those are some really good thoughts. I think with most things the introduction of common squads will require a lot of thought and nuance to make sure mostly everyone is happy. - Adam

18:06 Will the wraithriders be able to do ladders? I would think so because that would never exceed their maximum of 2 levels higher

Honestly that makes sense, but ladders are weird and low-key complicated. But I am not a trustworthy source. - Rowan
