Additional support planks are needed at the edges of the room, but the stick length should be 1.41 times the distance between planks or it'll all fall down. What kind of geometric wizardry is this? 😂 The way he was calculating and measuring the angles was amazing to watch. This was one of the most satisfying videos I've ever watched. I subscribed within the first few minutes of the video. 😂 Good job!! The floor turned out beautiful!

Seems weird to glue the entire floor at once. They must be using a much slower drying adhesive than I'm used to. Also nice work getting right up to the edges, but won't it eventually buckle when it expands near the areas where there isn't trim?

Every time you measure with a tape you introduce error. Direct measurement is best followed by a folding rule. A tape is accurate to 1/16th inch on an interior measurement and it takes TIME. On a square layout you can flip the planks ans cut along the already laid ones

I work exactly the same, you have to see the pieces of parquet upside down to cut the angle for the wall. You need skill and vision in space to be able to do the job so fast. It is not impossible, it requires attention, patience and pleasure to do such a thing!

This is very awesome. He did a very good job. One minor detail which I would mention. He forgot to allow for thermal expansion around the edges. This is some sort of a vinyl flooring which is laid using adhesive, it still needs about 0.5cm (0.19 inch) of room to expand.
@GazerPlur4202 жыл бұрын
When I was green, I made my cuts too close to the walls and learned what effects that had when we had to go back and the middle planks made a volcano in the middle. And this is vinyl plank too. Laminate and Wood floor need even more time to acclimate
@leebo42032 жыл бұрын
Wrong you don't leave any gaps for expansion as long as the tiles are acclimatised 48 hours before installing it will be fine I lay herringbone LVT on a daily basis 👍
@mathewprusak2052 Жыл бұрын
@Leebo420 umm that's wrong. Unless you glue it down, manufacture requirements are that you leave an expansion gap, otherwise you are voiding the warranty.

@@mathewprusak2052 Where did he purchase product and is the manufacturer have a history of honoring product should product fail?
@mathewprusak2052 Жыл бұрын
@BeekeeperMaria Delgado all manufacturers should honor their own warranty if their requirements were met. However it can be difficult to deal with them. You have to be very persistent.
@daves26242 жыл бұрын
It's not wood but some kind of composite (vinyl/plastique/fibre) with a printed faux wood surface pattern and that you can easily cut with a box cutter and lay it down with no additional glue or nails etc. Simple enough once you get the hang of it but it is not T&G (tongue and groove) so water will go through all the joints so do not wash with mop and pail; just use a damp cloth. (Water will penetrate to the undersurface and within time will begin to decay the bonding thus causing lifting of the corners affected.) Also, floor base must be visually level, no highs or lows) and definitely no bumps...nailheads, floorscrews etc. Finish job looks great (herringbone) but does it require to be completely 'rolled' with a heavy weight once it is laid down to assure consistent and thorough contact with the base glue/prep?
@91thewatcher232 жыл бұрын
I've laid T&G vinyl and the way he would skip a few slats and then come back and wedge one in there with no mallet like it was no big deal blew my mind. Then it occurred to me it wasn't grooved when he was laying the edges. I couldn't imagine trying to lay those tiny pieces. There's a lot more waste with T&G if you're like me and don't know what you're doing or have a mind for it
