I was a bit disappointed when Herrmann and Cruz didn't get enough credit when they got out at the end of the episode. They both are so humble, and always putting others first. Like almost everyone in the 51, but still had to cheer them up a little bit. These guys are heroes. Such a powerfull episode!

Because Herman wanted to "save some time", he, Cruz, and two civilians nearly DIED. And the "taking longer" card is not really valid. As in practically every fire they only take the stairs.

Herrmann has always been the heart and soul of 51, as well as Cruz. Last night's episode, it took both of their strengths and their talents to save the civilians and themselves from being trapped in the freight elevator. David Eigenberg and Joe Minoso should both be considered for Emmy Nomination. JMHO.

I got a chance to train with Herman (David) at the Illinois Fire Service Institute. He was on the fireground with the rest of us every day, doing the same drills we did. He may be an actor, but he is the real deal. Super respectful, awesome man, and was just as good as the career guys there. Mad respect.

Thank you! Finally, someone said it! I was rewatching Chicaho Fire, and only Casey got recognition and the medal (not saying he didn't earn it), but Herrmann worked to save Mouch with the steam burning him and got nothing 🤔 😅

I know it is off topic, but season 4 16-20 a boy named J.J. Holloway. In case you forgot, he is the boy that spent some time in the fire house while his mother died and his Aunt Mary is his Gardian. What if he came back into the picture. Like a worker in the bullpen, or if he is old enough a firefighter, or even asking Severide for help (or someone from fire house 51) for help in the fire academy) or maybe something where we (the fans) can see him again?

Yes-the first pregnancy was a miscarriage, said in an episode to Casey and Gabriela Dawson when she miscarried. I think this was more about his first BORN child, rather than first pregnancy overall
