They laugh when they hear that there’s a shortage of Adderall. But for kids like me with ADHD and a prescription who genuinely depend on it to get through the day, this is a nightmare. It shouldn’t get to the point where ur mom has to tell u to ration ur Adderall portions so that you don’t run out too soon. It’s hard enough to get the monthly prescriptions and a shortage doesn’t help.

If you had half a brain, you'd realize it's because one company makes most of the medicine. One company. One. One company (Teva Pharmaceuticals) had labor problems because they undoubtedly pay their workers garbage ... and you blame the FDA?? Please... Stop drinking the Koolaid.

@@talibbeyal-morokech5568 someone already said it, but it's because Teva is really the only manufacturer. Those manufacturers control the supply, so they determine who gets it. Teva has contracts with distributors who have contracts with pharmacies. Normally, these things are taken into account because pharmacies are very efficient places (lol). Normally. About two years ago there was a thing that happened, you might have heard about it. So, when the whole world shut down pharmacies were relying on strategic stock to fill all the Rx. Now, because Teva supplies pharmacies differently, we are seeing shortages because when 1 pharmacy doesn't have the stock we send you to another that might. That disproportionately depletes stock at a rate that can't be kept up with. So where does the blame fall? Corporate Capitalism. Particularly American Corporate Capitalism. Because Teva isn't the only manufacturer, but because a board of directors decides the supply based on their profit it's the most popular and most "preferred" meaning that the pharmacy prefers to use that brand for... [insert corporate explanation]. Hope that clears some stuff up.
