I can’t handle how BEAUTIFUL this piece is! I wish I had enough money to buy 50 and hang them on a wall as a full accent wall and just stare at all the colors flowing through the satisfying design😍

This is absolutely stellar -- far from tacky! (You know what would TRULY be tacky, though? Having your design stolen and reproduced for cheap by the likes of Temu, Shein, Ali Express, etc. It happens to independent artists all the time, and I absolutely hate it.) Keep up the amazing work! ❤

I saw the short as well with the other lighting effects and I love it, love it, it's absolutely beautiful.
@magatsu828 ай бұрын
This is super cool! I think the tackiness actually comes from the colors you chose to display, if you do a spiraling rainbow effect in something that is supposed to be a piece of art/decoration is going to look very very tacky. Go with colors that complement the design of the room, tone them down, use just a couple of colors, maybe 2 or 3 different shades of the same color
@HerschelShapiro8 ай бұрын
I agree, a very slow barely noticeable color shift emanating from the center is my favorite pattern, but this is not well conveyed in video so i used faster more dynamic patterns.
@stefanturcanu92635 ай бұрын
I agree with this as well. It needs to gently blend with the room. It would be so much more interesting to have it integrated with something like homeassistant to display sun position/hue. Perhaps a sculputure in itself shaped as such. Or display time via a voice assistant command and room presence. Or use it as a countdown to wind down. The form and beauty is there, function can be added.

Wow, this is a gorgeous new piece of yours! Funnily enough, your previous work really inspired me to make a similar design piece using LEDs; I opted to put them inside of the 3D parts instead, but the result still turned out really nice :) Mine is called Lotus

From experience, it probably looks a lot more harsh IRL than on video. I would suggest coming up with some way to have a thin PETG diffuser to hide the harsh point light from the bulbs when looking at it anywhere that isn't perfectly head on.

Not really that much, these lights are just 5mm pixels, very much like Christmas lights. Also only like 10-20% of the lights are ever directly visible from any angle.

This is amazing man. I love the pattern and thought behind it. I used LEDs extensively for a massive 10x20ft art installation behind paintings that danced to light. No programming, just sound response. Would love to do more arduino in the future.

If you do more of this really go into the study of light and eye perception and what LEDs can actually reproduce as far as color. The amount allotted to each rainbow section and the gradation between each would be really much different if you actually wanted them all to be appear equally spaced part. No criticism, just asking for a new video somewhere down the road (you’ve got plenty of time right? Lol) where are you delve into this topic when working with your software. I hope you try more manipulation of light into your artworks. Your sculpture is magnificent!.

0% tacky. 100% INCREDIBLE! Subbed. DAMN that looks amazing. I do have a question for you: How are the LEDs assigned color? Using a simple shape like a square of LEDs or w/e would be fairly easy but the spiral seems difficult unless Im missing something? Can you label each 'dot' in your LED matrix?
