Fun Fact: The night they filmed the scene with Rick & Carl was when Carl had his birthday Right at midnight he turned old enough in Georgia to be able to use a real prop & shoot blanks which is one reason that scene always holds a special place In a lot of fans hearts & why Rick looks at him the way he did.

I love how Rick looks at Carl He can see that Carl has changed Carl is now a young man perfectly conditioned for this world and he can take care of himself It’s like Rick sees he’s done his job.

In this episode, Chandler aka Carl is his birthday so they filmed after midnight so he could actually hold and shoot it. So they let him just have fun with it

Hey Fun Fact the scene with Carl and Rick with the machine guns was filmed on Chandler Riggs 14th birthday his first day to legally be allowed to shoot a real gun while filming so they shot all night long to celebrate.

The look that Rick gave Carl was one of pride, yes, but I think he was a little scared, after all, Carl at the end of the day is still a child, a child who grew up too quickly, which is necessary, but I think Rick's look was like realizing that his son was already grown up.

Hershel is a bad ass love that man. Let me tell you, Rick and Carl taking out those walkers are my favorite father and son scenes. Literally, it gives me chills. I adore their relationship and how they protect each other. I remember screaming and crying for Glenn this episode. Can they please stop having my boy almost die. Oh, and The Governor.... fuck that guy.

And then you guys played this episode probably one of the most important episodes of him in the series.

While Carol’s decision to kill Karen And David wasn’t her’s alone to make this episode highlights a good reason as to why her idea to mercy kill and try to eliminate the threat was a much kinder death than what the poor people who died from the symptoms went through.

Except Carol didn't 'mercy kill' Karen and David.... she killed them to protect the people that she really cares about. Not everyone gets as sick as others, some not at all, we don't know if Karen and David might have survived, she didn't give them a chance to find out. I doubt if it was Daryl or Lizzy who were sick that she would have done the same thing, it was selfish of her, as much as I love Carol, it was not the right choice.
